Is the Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) Rohini a good college for PGDM?
JIMS Rohini isn’t a good option for management studies. There are many other better management institutes in the Delhi NCR region such as IMI Delhi, BIMTECH, and Jaipuria Institute of Management.
JIMS has a good infrastructure. Due to the locational advantages, you will also get good exposure to industries in Delhi NCR. According to JIMS Rohini placements 2022, the average CTC offered to the students is around INR 7.5 LPA.

Among PGDM-FS from K J Somaiya, GIM PGDM, and SIIB, what should I choose?
For a PGDM FS, KJ Somaiya is the best option among these. The institute has a locational advantage since it is situated at the financial hub of the country, i.e. Mumbai. KJ Somaiya placements are great. According to the 2022 interim placement report, the average CTC offered to the students was INR 10.25 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 26.50 LPA.
Between GIM and SIIB, the letter offers better industrial relations and better job roles in campus placements.
How is the PGDM program at PIBM? How are the placements?
One of my seniors from school recently graduated from PIBM. Here is his insight on the institute.
- The PGDM course curriculum at PIBM has been designed as per the industry standards.
- Various types of training sessions like Certifications like SAP, SIX SIGMA, and MS Certification; Mentorship Programs; Employability Development Courses by EEP and NSDC, and more are conducted.
- Apart from Marketing, Finance, and HR the other specializations offered by the institute are Applied Business Analytics, Strategic Digital Marketing, IT & ITES, and Operations.
- The placement has been good even in the midst of Covid-pandemic. Most of the students have been placed in Deloitte, e-Clex, Cians, Dabur, Xanadu Realty, Reckitt Benckiser, TIAA, CITCO, DRE Homes, etc.
- The highest CTC was INR 15-17 LPA and the average CTC is around INR 6.5-7 LPA.
So overall PIBM is a great option to pursue your PGDM.
Which is a preferred call: PGDM from TAPMI, or BIM Trichy? Interested in finance
Both TAPMI and BIM Trichy are very popular institutes and both of them are very good options to pursue PGDM. According to the reviews on the internet, both these colleges have their advantages.
- The infrastructure of TAPMI is very beautiful and has received accreditation from AACSB.
- There are also very experienced guest facilities visiting the college to give lectures to the students.
- The faculty of BIM are highly skilled & qualified and also has a focused study group with a batch size of 120.
- The alumni background of BIM is also very strong, especially in the finance department.
- Many students who have passed out from BIM are now working in top banks and PE firms heads across the world which clarifies how good this institution is.
- For the finance department, BIM has an advantage in academics and faculty compared to TAPMI.
- The placement scenario is also very good and it is similar for both of these colleges.

Hence, both these colleges are very options to pursue PGDM but for the finance sector, BIM Trichy can be a better option as its faculty members are very talented and have a better alumni network.
How difficult is it to convert K J Somaiya PGDM (core)? I've scored the 92 percentile in the CAT and I am a fresher.
KJ Somaiya CAT cutoff is around 83-85 percentile. So, you should get a shortlist. The final selection will be based on your performance in the GD-PI round. The selection parameters with weightage are as follows.

What is the difference between PGDM full time and PGDM Finance at IMT Ghaziabad?
An acquaintance of mine completed his PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad so hopefully, he would be able to answer your question accurately.
- In the case of PGDM full-time, you will be capable of choosing your own area of specialization, be it marketing, finance, or HR at the end of the first year.
- In the case of PGDM finance, your area has already has been chosen for you and will not be able to change it.
- Irrespective of the specializations, the first year is common for each and every student. PGDM students can choose their desired area of specialization at the end of the first year.
The college management may ask full-time students to choose their specialization area before their placements for summer internships which are usually 3-4 months of joining even though technically you can choose your major by the end of the first year. My acquaintance had to choose his major before his summer internship placements.
If you choose PGDM Full time, then you will be able to choose your specialization from:
- Marketing
- Finance
- Information Management and Analytics
- Operations Management
- Human Resources
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
If you go for PGDM finance, you will have to learn the electives and core subjects of finance in your second year.
Which PGDM is better, IMI in New Delhi or TAPMI?
IMI Delhi is ranked higher than TAPMI in most of the rankings one will come across. However, the scenario may differ based on work experience, expectations from an MBA, and the major one is looking for.
IMI Delhi has a better record of companies coming for placements than TAPMI. But, TAPMI has a different approach to placement reports. The figures are CRISIL certified, and the aim is to provide world-class education with a rigorous curriculum unmatched in the industry. The education and rigor received at TAPMI will make the investment worth it.
Life at TAPMI is tough, and it is not the typical B-School one would wish for. The institution is strict about every detailed aspect, and there won’t be opportunities to go home every fortnight or bunk class. However, a wonderful campus with best-in-class facilities will be provided, and personal expenses won’t skyrocket.
Placements will not be an issue once the necessary skills are acquired. Opportunities in every field of every kind will be provided, and the faculties are top-notch with high industry experience.
In the end, the decision is up to the individual.
Should I join K J Somaiya PGDM FS or FORE PGDM?
FORE and KJ Somaiya are both excellent. The curriculum is designed in consultation with industry leaders and the growing demands of the industry as an ongoing process at FORE, making it relevant to the workplace. FORE has a strong connection with the corporate world and is a preferred destination for recruiters because it provides value to the recruiter as well. The average CTC offered by both institutes is nearly identical - FORE: INR 14.04 LPA & KJS: INR 12.28 LPA.
If you are not from Mumbai, you must also consider the cost of living. Delhi/NCR is always less expensive than Mumbai.
