B.Stat from Indian Statistical Institute,Kolkata (2017)

According to some of my friends from ISI Kolkata said it does offer undergraduate courses B.Stat or B.Math. Let me tell you some courses in detail for better insight.

Indian Statistical Institute offers the following two bachelor programs:

3-year B Stat (Honors):

  • The criterion for this is you require successful completion of Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.
  • You will get a Stipend Rs.3000/- per month (Offered at Kolkata).

3-year B Math (Honors):

  • The criterion for this is you require successful completion of Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.
  • Stipend Rs.3000/- per month (Offered at Bangalore).

Therefore, according to my friends, apart from these two undergraduate courses, ISI does not offer any other Bachelor Programs.

Which is the best course in NITIE Mumbai among PGDIE, PGDIM, PGDISEM, etc.?

NV
Nitin Verma Posted On : August 18th, 2021
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2021)

The most important thing you should know is which course will prove to be better for your career, rather than which is the best overall. As some of my friends are from NITIE Mumbai, I can give you a bit of information about PGDIE and PGDIM.

  • Both PGDIE and PGDIM are flagship courses of NITIE.
  • PGDIM is considered to be a management course, whereas PGDIE is a technical course.
  • PGDIE is a more M.Tech equivalent.
  • There are also certain differences between the course curriculum at PGDIE and PGDIM.
  • PGDIE has a batch size of 120. And PGDIM has a batch size of 250.
  • Admissions for PGDIE are done through GATE scores. For PGDIM, CAT scores are considered.
  • The placements of both the courses are good. Students of both these courses sit for placements by almost the same companies.

Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for the one that suits you the best. Ask yourself where your passion lies and will a management course or a technical course be beneficial for you.

Which type of courses are offered by the NITIE Mumbai through the GATE, MBA or MTech?

SP
Shreya Palit Posted On : August 18th, 2021
PGDIM from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

I have friends who study at NITIE Mumbai, and these are the 5 different courses the institute offers:

  1. PGDIM (For Industrial Management)
  2. PGDISEM (For Industrial Safety and Environment Management)
  3. PGDIE (For Industrial Engineering)
  4. PGDPM (For Project Management)
  5. PGDMM (For Manufacturing Management)

Moreover, PGDIM and PGDISEM are equivalent to MBA and require you to appear in CAT exam to enroll in either of them.

Other than these few, PGDIE, PGDPM, and PGDMM are equivalent to M.Tech. The admissions are followed by considering the GATE scores which also helps make students eligible for the regular stipend provided by the government to several of these GATE qualifiers.

What are the top courses in NIT Trichy as per 2021?

AN
Angelina Naik Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
B.Tech. Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2018)

One of my friends had been a student of NIT Trichy, pursuing B.Tech. Let me share what I gathered from him and some reviews online.

  • The excellence of the courses may vary in each semester, but according to my friend, there are a few courses that are never out of standard.
  • Based on their learning opportunities, infrastructure available, extra-curricular/technical club opportunities, and internships and placements, these are some of the undergraduate courses that are considered best.
  • The courses include -
    • Computer Science and Engineering,
    • Electronics and Communication Engineering,
    • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and
    • Electronics Engineering is considered better.
  • Keep in mind that you should always take the courses that are interesting to you.
  • Thus, if these courses don’t intrigue you, you can go for other courses as they will be better for you if you are interested in them.

Many students have gotten to know about their field of interest while studying in college. Hence, give some time to figure it out and then make a decision, as this will shape your career further.

What is IGNOU B.com A&F degree for CA students? What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing it?

PK
Parneet Kaur Posted On : October 14th, 2022
Studied BCOM (Accounting and Finance) at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)
Many qualified Chartered Accountants are missing out on opportunities simply because the employer's policy requires a bachelor's degree. Also, CA is merely a qualification, more akin to a certificate/membership than a degree. As a result, ICAI and IGNOU have signed an MOU for a credit transfer system. As a result, CA students are exempted from writing certain papers in the IGNOU Bcom curriculum. It is advised to apply immediately after passing the IPCC (both groups). After passing the IPCC, you will be able to write BCom exams for only six subjects. (In contrast to the traditional system, in which students must write 6 papers over 3 years = 18 exams) One can also apply after CPT, but one will need to write more subjects. Advantages:
  • Only six exams
  • Only 6 days of the holiday are required (exam days).
  • There are only six assignments to complete.
  • The course fee is only Rs 6500-7000 for the entire duration of the course. That's all there is to it.
Disadvantages:
  • BS cannot be written in exams.
  • One study will obtain a minimum of 65%. The exact percentage of a Bachelor's Degree that employers look for.

Is FMS Delhi a good option for a MBA executive program?

ST
Shikha Thakur Posted On : December 28th, 2022
MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi

Yes, pursuing an MBA Executive from FMS Delhi is indeed a very good decision. This is because my brother was in the recent batch and according to him these are the reasons that make it a good choice

  • ROI: The fees charged at this B School are very less in comparison to other B schools.
  • Rigor: The MBA Executive Program is quite rigorous with classes 6 days a week. Regular exams, sessionals, projects, and assignments make it a bit frustrating but in the end, they help you in clearing semesters.
  • Faculty: The faculty for this program is very experienced and knowledgeable.
  • Mixed batch: The diverse profiles of your peers make it a more challenging and thrilling experience. The batch has doctors, engineers, CAs, Armed forces officers, PSU employees, and IT professionals.
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Degree: An MBA degree from Delhi University is worth it in the end.

Can I apply for two programs in IGNOU simultaneously?

HC
Harsh Chandra Posted On : October 20th, 2022
MBA in Management, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

According to the UGC, no universities have been approved to allow students to pursue dual degrees or master's degrees at the same time. Even if you register for one degree at IGNOU and another at another distant or regular university, it will not be valid because UGC does not endorse that. You cannot display both certificates at the same time.

As a result, it is always preferable to complete a B.Com before pursuing an MBA. B.Com in addition to BBA is a challenge. After completing your B.Com, you can enroll in IGNOU's MBA program.

Is an MCA from IGNOU good for my prospects?

AM
Addwait Mahajan Posted On : October 14th, 2022
Student at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

IGNOU degree is accredited by the Indian government and is recognized as equivalent to a graduate degree in engineering in the United States. Students get their H1B visa stamped because it is considered a professional qualification, but they are sponsored by one of the top 5 Software MNCs in India, which is very important. A degree from IGNOU has enormous validity and recognition.

Sure, you may have difficulty breaking into the job market because most employers prefer "Regular" degrees from a reputable college or university. Nobody is lucky enough to get a job of their choice. The only difference is that distance learning requires you to fight more, both during your studies and in the job market. However, one should not overthink, hard work pays off.

Maintain your fundamentals, learn and master the latest technology, and prepare yourself to be versatile and competitive.

Your priority should be to find a job in your field of study, rather than a high-paying job. When you're in the field, your experience counts, and your degree usually takes a back seat.
