Remarks :
The admission is done based on the rank you get in the Neet exam. Generally, the students of our state choose this as a sixth-priority college. From the state quota, you need 615+ marks to get into this college. From all India quotas, you will be needed around 635 to 640 marks for UR. The neet application is available on the website and this exam is conducted by the National testing agency.
Course Curriculum Overview :
MBBS is a professional course so you need to learn about the human body and you need to learn how to treat a person. The faculties in all the colleges of West Bengal are good to average, the professors get rotated in different colleges within 2 years so faculty is not a big problem. The faculties generally have done that Super Specialty or specialty in their respective field. Yes, internal assessment exams are of moderate to difficult level and the University exam is similar for all the students of medical colleges of West Bengal.
Internships Opportunities :
See this is medical college after MBBS you become a doctor so no company will give you an internship there is a 1-year mandatory internship in every medical college in India, in the internship you get to see a lot of patients, and as it is a Government Medical College the number of patients is quite high. You get a payment of around 29000 per month by the West Bengal government definitely as a stipend.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As it is a government college the fees for the whole course are low, the College tuition fee is 750 rupees per month. so in MBBS, they are a total of 9 Semesters so the sum of the whole fee is around 43000Rs. Yes, you can get a scholarship if you are qualified enough and you justify the criteria of the scholarship. But be sure that the college won provide any kind of scholarship, the scholarship is generally provided by any authority or NGO to needy students.
Campus Life :
As it is located in Kolkata the campus life is quite good, although it is a little bit far from the prime Kolkata, but there are a lot of places where you can chill out. The annual phase of CMSDH is called Asterias, it is a good fest you will enjoy a lot many Bollywood singers and local singers come and perform here. Most of the medical books of current updated versions are available in the library. All the classrooms are digitized with a projector and most of the lecture theatres are air-conditioned. As the campus size is quite small compared to other colleges in West Bengal what is you can enjoy a lot and there are sports and extracurricular activities on the campus.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, hostels are there but you will not get a very clean and very sophisticated hostel there., as you can understand it is a government college with a fee of Rs 12 per month. The accommodation I would say is a bit crowded but yes you can manage there.
