It all starts with U at IIMU

Remarks :

I took CAT'21 and cleared it with a 96.8 percentile. The cutoff varies with gender, background, workex, etc. However, a minimum of 95v percentile is necessary to make it through for people with no reservations. The admission process is pretty simple and straightforward. CAT form is made available in due time, and gives enough time for students to fill it Initially you might find the form to be difficult and complicated, but once you start you see that the form is very easy to fill. An important thing to keep in mind is to fill all details in the form correctly as later on no changes can be made and sometimes wrong details can be the reason for you not making it into the next round.

Course Curriculum Overview :

MBA focuses on the all-round development of an individual, and hence I choose to pursue this course. MBA is not limited to just studies, it focuses on various other elements, such as soft skills, cultural activities, etc, for healthy growth. Faculty members also push students beyond their limits for each one of us to have a transformational journey of 2 years. The faculty is highly knowledgeable and qualified, belonging to prestigious universities all over the world and in India. In addition to being available after class hours, they are heavily research-oriented and expect the same from the students. They have high knowledge of the industry and the academic world than you would typically require. In addition to the abundant resources the college provides, the faculty also helps you to choose your career path and take action to achieve the same. The exams are very easy and the evaluation is done generously by the professors.

Internships Opportunities :

Companies from various industries come to the campus with internship opportunities. Big names, including Goldman Sachs, Pidilite, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, Tata Group, etc, come for internship opportunities for first-year MBA students. The marketing domain seizes the maximum no. of students. Competitive benchmarking, inducing sales, lead generation, process optimization, etc came out to be the common projects given to the maximum no. of students.

Placement Experience :

Placements in IIM Udaipur start from the month of September/ October, wherein Pre Placement Offers are to start getting floated to the second-year MBA Batch. More than 100 students received PPOs this year. Companies from various industries seeking roles in various domains come to the campus in search of the right candidate. industries of the company include NBFC, Banking, Pharmaceuticals, Ed-Tech, FinTech, FMCG, etc. Roles come in various domains of marketing, sales, finance, operations, HR, etc. IIM Udaipur has a record of 100% placement.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The overall fees are around 18 Lakhs- 20 Lakhs, which is quite reasonable for an MBA course. Financial assistance is provided based on their background. National and state scholarships are also promoted in the college for eligible students to make the most of the opportunity. IIM Udaipur attracts internships in various domains. The marketing domain sees the maximum number of apprenticeships. The average stipend for a two-month internship was around 1.2 lakhs/month, with the maximum batch being placed above 50k/month.

Campus Life :

IIM Udaipur has a gorgeous campus that will leave anyone awestruck. Apart from the beauty, the hostels are very comfortable with amenities like a washing machine, microwave, refrigerator, kettle, hot water, water dispensers, etc. The housekeeping staff is also very friendly and helpful. The campus has a confectionary store and a fruit and vegetable vendor to fulfill daily requirements. IIM Udaipur also has a laundry store. The library is fully equipped with books, journals, and resources required by students. Classrooms and halls are enormous. IIM Udaipur also has an amphitheater and an auditorium for various activities. The best part of the campus is the hanging library. There are clubs that committees that would satiate everyone's needs. The college is entirely student-run, with transparency as a fundamental value. IIM Udaipur has three major fests; SOLARIS- the management fest of IIMU; UTKRISHT- the sports fest of IIMU; and AUDACITY- the cultural fest of IIMU

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are provided to each student, with each room having a single occupancy. Each room is well furnished with a bed, a study table and chair, a full-size cupboard, an AC, and immense light. Mess is run by admin in collaboration with the students, wherein students are decisive about the menu; hence variety is never an issue. Also, regular feedback is taken from the student body and according amendments are made

Interview Experience :

My GD for CAP colleges was conducted in an online mode, with eight members in my group having three moderators. The topic of the GD was "Robots and AI would replace humans in an organization." The time for GD was 15 mins, with 10 mins for discussion, 2 min to prepare, and 3 mins to sum up the discussion. The only way to prepare for GDs is to practice and read current articles that would increase your knowledge base. Also, a tip would be to start the GD as that brings out your various skills, and never to cut anyone while one is making their point. For PI it is important to be thorough with HR questions and any hiccup in that is never tolerated.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do MBA as this was my aim since my undergraduate. After getting into IIM Udaipur, I was amazed by seeing the kind of faculty we have here. Their background is specific to the given course they are teaching and the expertise they hold is great. Given this scenario, the exams are not just theoretical, but practical in sense. There are activities involved along with group projects to understand group dynamics and teamwork.

I choose it because that is the only reputed Government based college in Jodhpur. And the teaching faculty are mostly Phds and Doctorate holders. Our batch was Covid struck so all exams and related events were postponed for an indefinite period at our time.
