Pros Campus: The campus is in the vicinity of all the dynamic places in Gurgaon like a cyber hub, sec 29, and golf course road. However, inside the campus, the ambiance is exactly different and serene. The infrastructure and campus are extremely beautiful, lush green, and well-built to give you a fairly dreamy experience. No reservation: Unlike other B Schools, MDI Gurgaon does not reserve seats for minorities or any other groups. So the entire batch is usually 98 percentilers ensuring you avail the best peer learning experience. Clubs: MDI Gurgaon has the usual clubs as well as the extraordinary ones like Unnati and Illumina Illumina is a disguised market research event, wherein a Diwali mela is organized on the campus. Marketing companies give out projects for market research to students who then create games to do research. Unnati is a fund operated by the students of MDI. Alums and students invest in it. Faculty: The faculty keeps changing or retiring but the most permanent faculty is Prof. Sanjay Bakshi, who also runs a company called Value Quest. Placements: The placements are definitely not at or with IIM ABC but are at level with IIM IKL or FMS. Exchange program: The exchange program is one of the best in the country as almost one-third of the batch gets to visit Europe and get amazing exposure. Alumni: MDI has its alumni in top positions in the corporate world as well as the startup world. However, as mentioned before, IIML still has the edge and requires more effort if you're in the finance or consulting field. MDI Gurgaon provides accommodation to its students on a twin-sharing basis in Chaitanya, Change Masters and Takshashila hostels. It also has a hostel named Kshitij where rooms are available on a twin-sharing / four-sharing basis. There are separate hostel blocks for the girl students known as Oddessy (Twin-sharing) and Kaveri (twin / triple-sharing). Hostel rooms are provided with a bed, a study table, a chair, a cupboard and the usual fixtures. The participants of the Management Development Programmes are allotted to the Parthenon and Nalanda hostels. The rooms of these hostels are air-conditioned and fully furnished.

MDI Gurgaon Scholarship

MDI Gurgaon offers different types of scholarships to its students. The FPM scholarship of INR 60,000 per month is provided for a maximum duration of 4 and 3 years to non-MBA and MBA students respectively. MDI Gurgaon Merit cum Means Scholarship is granted to a total of 10 students with a 50% waiver of tuition fees. This scholarship is available for the students enrolled in the full-time 2-year program which includes the PGDM/PGDM- HRM/PGDM-IB courses at MDI Gurgaon. The annual family income must be up to INR 8,00,000 to avail of the MDI Gurgaon Merit cum Means Scholarship.

Internship in ABG !!

Admission:

You need to appear in the CAT exam. Any percentile over 90%ile with a sectional of 70 70 70 cleared will fetch you a call from MDI Gurgaon. However, to convert core, 96+ is a safe score for non-engg and 98.5+ for GEM. After you get a shortlist, you'll have to appear and fill out a form which MDI-G will send and you can edit your details there. Further, you'll get a PI date. Results will be announced sometime in May.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very holistic with all updated books, study materials, cases and case readings. I choose Human Resource Management as there are fewer students in that course and the curriculum is relatively easier than the PGDM course. Faculties teach not from the book but from the cases, they provide with live examples from different companies and from their own personal experience.

UNVEILING THE LIFE AT MDI GURGAON

A candidate must appear for CAT or GMAT to get admitted to MDI, Gurgaon. The average batch percentile in cats stays around 98 each year, although there are exceptions. A candidate must have a minimum of 50% in graduation and 12th to be eligible for admission. It is after that the CAT percentile along with the specific criteria of the institution for the year determines whether a candidate will receive a call or not for an interview. The application form can be found on the website of the institution, and the admission process is smooth, as all the information is relayed from time to time through mail, either by the college office or the student-run admission committee. The college doesn't have any reservation policy.

When it comes to marketing there are only a few b-schools that are better than MDI, Gurgaon. Having an interest in marketing I opted for the core program offered by MDI, G. The HR program is also very coveted, being the second best in the country, The institution has well-established professors who are also world-leading researchers. The teaching method is unique and practical and practice-oriented. However, the class hours being 90 minutes are too long. The exams are conducted timely and there is a fixed routine for everything, including a strict attendance policy.

Summer Internship for PG' 22.

I applied to MDI Gurgaon through their website way back in 2021. The application fee was Rs. 3000. It usually closes a day or two before the CAT exam every year. I recieved a shortlist from MDI once the CAT 2021 results were declared. The mode of communication was either mail or their website. I was supposed to submit relevant proofs on their portal before the PI. I appeared for the PI process and my interview lasted not more than 6 minutes. On 13th May 2022, I recieved an offer letter for all the three programs offered at MDI through CAT.

The course curriculum is designed keeping in mind the industry standards. The teacher student ratio is usually 1/60. The teachers are PhD scholar and our pedagogy is designed around case studies to bridge the gap between theory and the real world. We have 6 terms in total here at MDI. The exams revolves around the application of what all we have learnt throughout the trimester.

Form a new perspective to approach problem solving

Final online personal interview with two faculties from the college. About general work experience and the most impactful projects I worked on followed by GK (ministers, capitals, why is this place famous, etc.) and current affairs questions.

The International Business course is slightly hectic as compared to the other courses offered by the college. The first term has 10 courses followed by 11 in the second term. These are done within the 5 months of the college. Faculty members are to die for. Super helpful, knowledgeable, and experts in their respective fields.

MDI - a summary

I took the CAT exam in November 2021 and scored 94.49 percentile. I received a shortlist from MDI around mid-February. The applications opened before CAT and fees were around 1000. The PI date I had was for 2nd April 2022. An improvement I would have liked to see is proper and clear communication of dates and prior dissemination of information.

The course curriculum is exhaustive and covers a range of subjects. This course is the best in NCR apart from FMS, and Gurgaon offers a corporate hub as well. Every class has 60-odd students. The faculty is very qualified and come from diverse backgrounds. MDI follows a trimester system and exams are held every 6 weeks (Mid-terms and end-terms). Papers can be open or closed books and are of moderate difficulty.
