    Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very holistic with all updated books, study materials, cases and case readings. I choose Human Resource Management as there are fewer students in that course and the curriculum is relatively easier than the PGDM course. Faculties teach not from the book but from the cases, they provide with live examples from different companies and from their own personal experience.

    Course Curriculum Overview:

When it comes to marketing there are only a few b-schools that are better than MDI, Gurgaon. Having an interest in marketing I opted for the core program offered by MDI, G. The HR program is also very coveted, being the second best in the country, The institution has well-established professors who are also world-leading researchers. The teaching method is unique and practical and practice-oriented. However, the class hours being 90 minutes are too long. The exams are conducted timely and there is a fixed routine for everything, including a strict attendance policy.

PGDM HRM is a specialized course and MDI Gurgaon is one of the premier, few colleges providing such a program Faculty is extremely proficient and the faculty: student ratio is about 1:8, considering 70+ faculty and a batch size of 500+ (PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-IB) Faculty are distinguished alumni of reputed colleges and firms, with an enriched industry experience Most lectures are conducted in the format of case-based discussions, ensuring group cohesion and integral participation Term exams are in alignment with the course commencement date, conducted timely and passing is easy to moderate considering the subject material covered in lectures

The International Business course is slightly hectic as compared to the other courses offered by the college. The first term has 10 courses followed by 11 in the second term. These are done within the 5 months of the college. Faculty members are to die for. Super helpful, knowledgeable, and experts in their respective fields.

Ques. Should I go for MDI Gurgaon, if I am already earning 7lpa keeping in mind the fees, and are the placements good enough to cover my opportunity cost for the 2 years?

    ● Top Answer By Prathmessh Todkar on 21 Feb 23

If you are already earning a salary as high as INR 71 LPA, I don’t think an MBA from MDI Gurgaon will do you any good. If you have decided on going for an MBA nevertheless, target the top B Schools like IIM A, IIM B, IIM C, XLRI, FMS, or IIM L. Choosing MDI for MBA is recommended only if you have offers from average B Schools like new IIMs, SPJIMR, NITIE, etc.  So first you need to get maximum calls from the top B Schools only then can you make a wise and informed decision....Read more

Ques. Is MDI GURGAON a good option for an MBA executive program?

    ● Top Answer By Sagardeep on 07 Mar 23

MDI Gurgaon is a great choice for an executive MBA program and is at par with other top-tier schools like IIM A, B, C, L, IIFT, FMS, XLRI, and IIT Delhi DMS. The 3-year executive MBA program for working professionals is extremely good, with the same course and faculty as that of the full-time one-year executive MBA and two-year full-time residential MBA program. It's an excellent institute and is even better than some of the newer IIMs. However, it's important to note that the fees for the 3-year executive MBA program at MDI Gurgaon have increased enormously over the last few years and are almost 10 lakhs. If you're looking for other options, IIM Lucknow's Noida campus also offers a similar 3-year executive MBA program with fees of Rs 10 lakhs, and classes are held on weekends and weekdays. IIFT Delhi is another option that offers a similar 3-year executive MBA program with fees of Rs 6.5 lakhs and classes on weekends. IIT Delhi also offers a similar 3-year executive MBA program with fees of Rs 4.10 lakhs, with classes on weekdays. FMS Executive MBA has fees of Rs 1 lakh only. It's important to choose your education loan wisely, especially when considering the high fees for some of these programs. Make sure to do your research and compare the options before making a decision....Read more

Ques. What are the placement prospects for a NMP program from MDI Gurgaon?

    ● Top Answer By Ashutosh Agarwal on 22 Feb 23

The NMP program of MDI is a well-known program that was initiated in the year 1988. The program is best suitable for Young Managers. Coming to the placement part, most of the students choosing this program are sponsored by the company they were working at and hence have to join back their company once their program is completed.  The general placements are also decent with around 70% placement percentage. But placements depend mostly on the knowledge gained and implemented in your job. Your performance throughout the program determines your placement....Read more

Ques. How do the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, and XIMB measure up to the established ones of XLRI, TISS, MDI and SCMHRD?

    ● Top Answer By Apoorv Ashutosh on 11 Jan 23

The simple answer to your question is no, the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, or XIMB are not at par with the established ones XLRI, TISS, MDI, and SCMHRD. The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter. Faculty: The professors of XLRI are renowned throughout the industry for their competency. They specialize in almost every domain one can think of be it Law, Competency Modeling, Compensation, or Performance Management. Peers: It’s the cream students who get the opportunity to get into a prestigious college like XLRI. You can see tough competition between the finest students at college. Every individual has a valuable opinion and stands to contradict others. Their thinking pattern is broad and given a case study, they look at all angles from accounting to finance to laws while proposing the solution. The situation at TISS is also quite similar. Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. But the truth is faculty and curriculum are the main but not the only factors that determine an institute's worth. Its own culture, ethics, and background have a lot to do with the programs it offers. So one cannot match XLRIs programs no matter how much they try....Read more

Ques. How long did it take you to recover the fees paid for PGPM of MDI Gurgaon?

    ● Top Answer By Suparkash M on 23 Feb 23

I asked a friend about the time it took him to pay back the loan he had taken to pursue PGDM at MDI Gurgaon. An estimate revealed 5-7 years. However this is subject to change as not everyone receives the same package.  Currently, MDI Gurgaon PGDM fees is ?23.47 Lakhs. On comparing this with the average package INR 26.65 LPA, we can say that the fees can be easily paid within 5 years time considering the interest and additional expenses. But tell me is getting an equivalent package the only way to recover the fees. Is it not recovered through the knowledge you have gained, the various experiences and the gateway to success. One can never repay back the fees in reality....Read more
