My life here at IIM Kashipur, The IIM in the North

Remarks :

The admission process included the mandatory CAT exam post which we were shortlisted based on our percentiles and then the CAP round was conducted that included a personal interview and then based on the composite score, we were offered admission into the institute, I was offered admission in the first list itself and majorly, the percentile at which a general candidate was offered admission was 92 percentile.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course at an IIM has always been a benchmark in the industry and at IIM khasipur, both the residential faculties as well as the visiting faculties are of great stature. Given the low batch strength, the faculty-to-student ratio is very good. Also, the classroom teaching technique includes a case-based approach wherein a concept is taught in the form of a case study.

Internships Opportunities :

The summer internship opportunities in the college are great with over 145 companies visiting our campus with roles in almost every domain starting from marketing, finance, consulting, product management, etc.

Placement Experience :

We have a dedicated student-run placement committee that caters to the placements of the college. The placements, both for the summers as well as finals are considerably good as the number as well as the quality of companies getting on campus is increasing every year. The college offers 100% placement.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is significantly low compared to the other new IIMs and on the other hand, we get around 145 companies on campus for our summer internships which is the highest in any New IIM. The amount of support that the institute extends towards scholarships and financial assistance is also great. I recently got placed in The Math Company, Bangalore as a Consultant.

Campus Life :

Life inside the campus is indeed great because we have a fully residential student-run campus. The cafeteria, as well as the Amul corner, are operational from 10 am to 4 AM the night which caters to almost all of our midnight cravings while studying/assignments. The gym is a fully equipped setup with a trainer available at all times.

Hostel Facilities :

The college provides fully residential hostels. In the first year, we have double sharing rooms with attached washrooms as well as study tables. Also, the rooms are equipped with radiant cooling and heating facilities. The common room has a microwave, washing machine, and fridge too.

Interview Experience :

There was no GD conducted in the CAP process as such but there was a personal interview process which comprised of questions like Why MBA?, Introduce yourself? Why MBA after graduation in Data Analytics? I used to read the newspaper as well as I used to stay in touch with my seniors who had already graduated from good colleges to gain insights.
