Best Placement | Remarkable journey |

Remarks :

To get into BP Poddar institute you have to clear either WBJEE or JEE MAIN. 90 % of the seats are reserved for the Wbjee category and the rest 10% are reserved for jee main category. I took admission in 2019 in B.Tech(IT).In 2019 cut-off was like for cse 15000 and IT 23000 and now the cut-off is going slightly high in current years. No need to apply separately to this college. You have to put the college at the time of counseling and if you get selected you have to go for physical verification and details will be provided by the WBJEE board. There you have to visit and before that, you have to make a payment of 5000. But if you take admission to this college then that amount will be adjusted with your tuition fees. No reservation for SC/ST/OBC. But you can avail TFW scheme if you are eligible. The only cons in their admission process are, you have to visit their park street office for admission that is far away from the main campus, and for uniforms as well.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Currently, I am in my last semester so it's the best time to write a review. To be very honest my first preference was CSE but my Wbjee rank was 17000 so I didn't get a seat in Cse which is why I took admission in IT. But trust me there is a 0% difference between CSE and IT in terms of curriculum, opportunity, and placement. In my department, there are 120 students(from the 2022 admission batch) in a batch, but in my time there were only 60 seats. Approx. faculty count : (cse 30, IT 15), check the bppimt's official website for exact details about numbers and qualifications.

Placement Experience :

When you will be in your 7th sem company will start to visit your campus. You will get a clear idea of placements if you visit bppimt.ac.in and look for placement details for the last 5 years. in my year about 25-30 company has visited our campus already and a few are yet to come. till now the highest package is 10lpa. the company visited and pool campuses: Infosys, cognizant, Accenture, Hexaware, TCG, Lab vantage, NRI fintech, Kreeti, PWC, ey, Jio, HSBC, Johnson controls, kovair, nucleus software, SAP labs, and many more. 150 + students got an offer of 6lpa or more if you are a little serious then you will get a job on this campus and if you are a hard-working student you will get a higher package too. I will join kreeti technologies as a junior software engineer after my degree and now I am an intern at that company too.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

you have to pay 25000 admission fees (one time). For each sem exam, rs 1200 for form fill up(taken by MAKAUT).FEES STRUCTURE (1st year : 88000rs,2nd year90200rs,3rd year 92400rs,4th year 94600rs). I am getting a swami Vivekananda scholarship every year from this college (amount: 60,000 rs/year). I got 2 job offers from this campus one from cognizant (4lakh) and another one from kreeti technologies(7.2lakh) as of now.

Campus Life :

no annual fest. only one fest after every 4 years like the world cup. This means you will get one fest in your whole college life. But it will be a grand fest. ELIXIR 2023 is coming (FEST FOR 2019-23 SEASON) The library is too big but filled with outdated books, sometimes you will not get books on your syllabus. But don't worry everything is available on the internet. I didn't visit the library for the last 2.5 years. classrooms are ok there are marker boards and projector. No campus only 3 flat buildings and no playground as well. they hire grounds for annual sports. lots of extracurricular activities on campus, for each activity there are separate clubs and communities, and if you want you can join there. You can find a few groups on Facebook with college names.

Hostel Facilities :

our college does not have own hostel. They have tied up hostels for boys and girls ( different obviously ). But the distance between the college and the hostel is too much(walking distance of 20mins ). Colleges have full control over their hostel. Meal: 6k/month for bed and food. 3 meals a day and 2 times tea. Food quality is not good and rooms are quite unhygienic. But you will get a solid environment of engineering life. You will make lots of memories. I have stayed there for 1 year. Now I am in a pg.

Placement Experience:

From 6 semesters onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, and Infosys are some of the companies which visited the campus. And more than 500 offers were made. The highest package here is 45 LPA which was offered by Amazon. The average package here is 4.5 LPA-5 LPA. More than 75% of students got placed. My plan after the degree is to secure a job with a maximum package.
