Remarks :
The admission process in our stint was online and a personal interview was the parameter to gauge a student that whether that individual is fit for the Institute. The recommendation would be to accommodate two more parameters and weightage can be given accordingly.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Coming from a background in hospitality, I felt it was time to enter a B-school and learn the fundamentals of a business environment. The ratio of faculty: students is 1:6. The curriculum is just like what is taught in other B-schools, and it is updated every year keeping in mind the trends going on in the industry. Certain key trends which were adopted in terms of the curriculum were subjects like sustainability and machine learning. Teachers are really helpful as they are having relevant educational experience along with industry connections. Semesters are not difficult and one can pass with diligent efforts. The pass percentage stands around 98 percent. Exams are held every trimester.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are good but could be more better if compared to the great placement opportunities available in the campus. But the number of opportunities available are more than enough for an individual to get sufficient exposure.
Placement Experience :
The 2nd year students are eligible for the final placements.2021-2023 had a batch strength of 186 students with a good amount of diversity in terms of gender, educational background and work experience ranging from zero to 36 months. The highest Package for our batch was 25 LPA offered by DE Shaw and the top companies which visited the campus are Hero moto corp, Aditya Birla retail, reliance retail, DHL express, EY, Accenture, and countless others. All the students were placed as college brings a sufficient number of Companies onto the campus. The top roles offered were Area Sales manager, Territory manager, Associate Consultant, Strategic Consultant, etc. All the students were placed and the average stood around 13 LPA. My plan after my degree is to get corporate experience for the rest of the year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees structure is around 12 lakhs and a hike of 2 lakhs has happened for the upcoming batch. EWS Scholarship was the one that was offered to me for which I will be always grateful to the Institute. I also got placed as a consultant with Accelalpha and CTC was more than the average package.
Campus Life :
The infrastructure provided to the students in terms of academics is highly equipped in terms of Wi-Fi availability, Labs, and resources from our learning center but coming to Hostels, it has to be improved in terms of its offering as the rooms and washrooms need to be repaired and painted. Coming to Social life IMT has 12 clubs and 8 committees which makes the life very happening here. Every week the institute sees some kind of events conducted by the clubs. The annual fest is impelz which involves students from various other B-schools and all of these are student driven initiatives.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are single occupancy rooms and in each corridor, there are 2 washrooms. Rooms are spacious but need repairs even the food served in the mess is not up to appropriate taste and needs to be improved upon.
Interview Experience :
A personal interview was the only round that was held for me. I had 2 panelists which were the faculties of the Institute and the questions ranged from the hospitality background as I was in that domain. It also centered around my decision to enter into a B-school regime and justifying my stance on it and finally ended with some current affairs.
