Remarks :
I got admission here through JEE Mains (Josaa Counseling) in 2022 so everything was fine and easy regarding the payment of admission fees or course fees. You can also get admission here in this University through MZUEE which is an entrance exam for MZU. Regarding the application form, it is provided in the specific department office or we can get it from the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW).
Course Curriculum Overview :
First of all, I chose this course as I'm very much interested in this field and love everything about it. The faculty: student ratio is 30:1. Most of the faculties are Professors, Lecturers, and Doctorates, and others are those who are doing Ph.D. at the University. They teach us the theory in a whiteboard classroom and the practicals separately in the specific practical room where all the equipment or tools are readily available. Regarding the exams, first of all, we conduct internal tests for both theory and practice and then we go to the main exam i.e. the external exam (which to appear you have to pass the internal exam/tests).
Internships Opportunities :
Many Internship programs are held for Engineering students every year. The top recruiters are Wipro Infosys TCS providing jobs like Banking engineer, Product engineering, Test automation engineer, etc., and offering packages of around 4-6lakhs. The Project s of our top recruiter is mainly product engineering, business processes, and IT services.
Placement Experience :
Regarding the placements, the eligibility starts from the third year ( 5th Semester). Many companies select certain students through tests and then interviews. The top recruiters are Wipro Infosys TCS offering a median package of 4 Lakhs. The percentage of students getting placement is 60-75%. After getting the degree, I plan to give the GATE exam and my state PSC for job purposes.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for engineering courses is decent, i.e., roughly 50k per year. Regarding scholarships, first of all, there is the Tribal Scholarship for the residents of Mizoram, whereas for others it will be the NSP. Many jobs are also offered here inside the campus to the selected students after B.Tech. Some jobs include Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, Electrician, etc. with starting salaries between 30k-50k.
Campus Life :
Campus Life is good and I'm quite enjoying it here. Regarding the availability of books and journals, everything we need is there so everything's good for now. There are many types of events and programs for sports and other extracurricular activities which include Sports Week, Picnics, Different Literary Competitions programs, and the main event of every year, i.e., the Varsity Week (Vrithli) where all kinds of Sports, Entertainment, Competition naming some are present.
Hostel Facilities :
The facilities and infrastructure are not that good also mainly because I'm staying in the hostel which is supposedly the oldest or the first hostel for Btech in the University. The meal overall is good, the mess routine goes something like Sunday- Pork and Chicken, Monday- Chicken(leftovers if any) with Chana or potatoes (which frankly speaking is the worst), and potato/Chana Tuesday - Potatoes/Chana and Egg with some potato gravy, Wednesday- Chana/Potatoes and Fish, Thursday- Chana/potatoes and egg with potato gravy, Friday- Chana/potatoes, Saturday- Chana/potatoes. Regarding Hostel admission, it is quick and easy, and cheap too but the most important thing is to fill up and submit the form as early as possible because most of the time students don't get alloted a seat until the next semester which can be a big problem and I wanna mention this as a con because there should be enough hostel seats/rooms available which is not the case here.
