Remarks :
Admission into Jawaharlal Nehru University, School of Engineering, Btech + Mtech course is through JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination). After the exam, you can opt for this college in the JOSAA counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Each semester lasts for about 5-6 months and there are 2 major exams conducted in each semester, i.e., mid-semester and end-semester examinations. Both exams are conducted in a 2-3 month gap. The facilities here are great, plus a few faculties are from IIT Delhi.
Placement Experience :
As the school of engineering in JNU is a bit new, we had our first placement this year. The placements were quite good according to the scenario. The average package was 8.5 lakhs, and the highest package was 25 lakhs. Not only this, but we have also been getting offers from outside (the off-campus placements).
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for a semester are about 75,000 Rs for the general and the OBC students. The hostel fees are not included in this. When compared to the rest of the engineering colleges, the fees here are much more affordable.
Campus Life :
The campus life here at JNU is really great. If you are a nature lover, then Delhi is the place for you to study. You have a stadium for sports like football ball, basketball, lawn tennis, etc. You can also opt for NCC but not as an extracurricular activity, but as a course with credits. Also, there are many active political parties like ABVP, DSF, AISA and many more.
Hostel Facilities :
There is a big possibility that the upcoming engineering students are made to stay in the Damodar hostel, near the VC house, and the East Gate. If all the engineering students stay together, you will definitely have the best time of your life. The meal quality is average but satisfactory.
