  • I chose this course because I want to be a scientist, and Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the best platforms for that.
  • Make a chart of tourist places in Delhi and read their history as well as information about the places in the language you are learning at university. It will have a positive impact on your work.
  • Every year, the university has a placement cell that invites top companies like IBM, WIPRO, HP, DELL, etc., for job opportunities.

  • Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the most prestigious universities in India; therefore, the campus life is awesome.
  • The best part of staying in a hostel is that you get to stay with your friends and you dont have any time limit to come in or out of the university or hostel.
  • This is the best university in India, and it has very talented professors and a beautiful campus as well.

Dislike

  • They said income increases with an increase in qualification, but its not the case for a sociologist.
  • I did not get a chance to venture into the placement cell and explore other job opportunities during my time in JNU for the reasons mentioned above.
  • India has the lowest cost of studying at JNU, where the fees are only 200 rupees per semester. Additionally, there are only monthly mess charges of 2800 rupees.
  • When a student gets admission to JNU, they are not sufficient. He/she has to spend a few months in the dormitory, and the condition of the hostel is also not good; it needs urgent repairing

Placement Experience:

JNU has enough scope for placement however most students often opt for research rather than getting an early job. Placement-related info has been mentioned earlier. I am planning to do a master's in sociology from jnu itself because lately, the subject has been exciting me.

Remarks:

After my 12th board exams, I applied to some colleges (the University of Delhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru University). The University of Delhi offered a variety of courses but gave admission based on board exams. I scored 92.2% on my boards and was getting into many colleges, but I opted for JNU which gave admission based on JNUEE (entrance exam held by JNU, now under CUET). In my, College Reservation is given based on central government rules. Apart from the normal reservation, JNU provides 6 marks for students from backward districts across India. The admission process is largely flexible and smooth. Seniors and student organizations are quite helpful while the admission process and throughout college life. I would surely recommend JNU to all the students.

Placement Experience:

Jawaharlal Nehru University is primarily a research-focused university, and placements are not a significant part of its academic activities. However, many students from JNU pursue higher studies or research, while some opt for careers in various fields. Though there are a few offers which students can grab at the university campus by taking part in activities related to Placements.

Remarks:

The admission process at JNU is a multi-step process that requires candidates to complete various formalities. Candidates need to keep a check on the official website of JNU for the latest updates on the admission process. However, the admission process has changed nowadays. Students need to pass the cuet examination and further qualify for the JNU cut-in off-score to get admission.

Placement Experience:

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is primarily a research-oriented university, and therefore, most of the students pursue higher studies or research after completing their programs. However, JNU has a placement cell that facilitates campus recruitment for students who wish to join the corporate sector.

Remarks:

the admission process at JNU is highly competitive, and candidates need to prepare well for the entrance examination to secure admission to their desired program. The admission process of JNU differs for each program, but there are some common steps that candidates need to follow: Registration: Candidates need to register themselves on the JNU admission portal by providing their basic details, including name, email ID, phone number, etc. Application Form: After registration, candidates need to fill out the application form by providing their educational details, personal details, and other relevant information. Uploading Documents: Candidates need to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and other required documents, such as mark sheets, certificates, etc. Cut-offs vary course-wise and year-wise.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am doing my graduation in the Spanish language. The reason for taking this course was basically the popularity of this language. The center currently has about 170 students in total with 6 professors to guide them. All of the professors hold the degree of Ph.D. in the language and have got a good amount of experience even in foreign universities. The term papers were kind of hectic ( uneven schedule due to covid) in the first two years. But now everything is proper. The difficulty was average.

Remarks:

The eligibility for the course is one should have passed the 10+2 exam. The application form came in the month of Feb and was valid till March. The fee was minimal ( about 250 rupees). The form was available on the official website as well as on different educational sites. The exam also follows the reservation terms which I availed i.e. category reservation (SC). The process was quite smooth.

Placement Experience:

As the school of engineering in JNU is a bit new, we had our first placement this year. The placements were quite good according to the scenario. The average package was 8.5 lakhs, and the highest package was 25 lakhs. Not only this, but we have also been getting offers from outside (the off-campus placements).

Remarks:

Admission into Jawaharlal Nehru University, School of Engineering, Btech + Mtech course is through JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination). After the exam, you can opt for this college in the JOSAA counselling.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is quite low because 1st placement occurs this year, and students become eligible for placement from 3rd year, The Highest package for students who placed was 36 LPA and the average is about 9-10, actual data will come at the end of placement percentage of students placed is low as many students change their course because there are lots of opportunities for another course, my plan is not clear because I am in 1st semester and I am still thinking about it.

Remarks:

I can tell you about admission to JNU in the BTech course. Admission to JNU occurs through JEE mains entrance test, and the eligibility is to clear the cutoff for JNU. The cutoff is different for 2 branches ( CSE, ECE). For the general category closing rank for CS is about 30k in 2023 and about 47k for ECE. Here reservation benefit is the same as in other NIT/ IIT colleges but one thing different is that there is no girl's reservation. The admission process is good and well organized but it is time taking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In French, there are many career scopes. Faculty members are very helpful and intelligent and well taught. All faculty members have done their Ph.D. and their teaching methods are very interesting. I had 2 exams in each semester in each subject Mid sem and end sem.

Remarks:

Anyone can apply here after the 12th for bachelors from any background. It must be 45% marks in 12%. On the jnu site www.jnu.ac.in you can find the form. Application fees are varied for a course or subject wise it is according to cuet. Application dates are from the last week of February to the 30th of March. There are some reservations for sc, st, and obc and female candidates. I found the very easy and fast process for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen a master's of science (physics). Here in the school of physical science 39 faculty are there of which 19 teach physics and 44 strength students. All faculties are highly qualified and did a lot of research in their field. The timing of term exams was about 6 months but due to covid it got disturbed. Exam level you can say above moderate

Remarks:

We gave CUET(pg) entrance test which consist of part A - General Aptitude and part B- domain subject and according to the score in part B we got shortlisted in the admission process. Here the top rankers of the test get a chance at admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because I have an interest in historical studies and also graduated in history Hons. Here we have imparted research oriented studies. The faculties take care of every individual student. The medium of instruction and exam is only English. There is a tutorial method for the overall development of students. There is a 10:1 ratio of students and teachers. The Faculties here are very supportive and are mostly senior professors. The University is very strict with its academic calendar. There is very much academic pressure and not any substitute for study.

Remarks:

I have been admitted to this course through the CUET PG entrance exam. You have to have a graduation degree from any course for admission. NTA conducts the entrance exam every year. It will release the application in the last week of March and the exam will be held in June. Fees for the CUET PG exam will be 600 and after clearing the CUET exam you have to register for the university to where you want to take admitted, the fees for the registration depend on the university like in JNU it is 250. I have got benefits of OBC reservation in admission and for allotment of the hostel. NTA should improve the quality of the question paper for the entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the MSC physics course because I want to pursue it and go for research in physics. And jnu is one of the leading universities in India for both sciences and language courses. Faculty to student ratio is also good. They select only 40 students for the course. The faculties are top quality and they teach the topics in a very easy way and are the top researchers in their field and published many books. As our sem started out late so to manage according to the academic calendar semester duration was reduced to 2.5 months with one mid-sem and end-sem examination. It is not easy to score in the exams as faculties set a tough paper.

Remarks:

Admitted in jnu through the cuet pg held in Sept 2022 then we have to apply for different colleges by submitting various documents like 10 and 10+2 mark sheet graduation mark sheet and degree aadhar card electricity bill etc as proof of your residence etc. Then the university releases the merit list through which students are admitted and only a core subject score of cuet is considered that's the benefit of applying for jnu. As most universities admit students on the basis of both section A and section B of cuet.
