Remarks :

I applied for the master's entrance on the IPU portal. The cutoff varies every year and admission is offered to the top 50-60 rank holders. If anyone from above opts out, then the seat is offered to the next candidate. For MA English, graduation was mandatory. The admission portal is opened on the official website of GGSIPU. 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My interest in literature took me to this master's course. My graduation professors advised me to go for IPU for its deep focus on research and academic writing. I wanted to understand the literature in depth and ipu is the best solution for that.

Class Size : 40Course Fees : INR 75000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Financial assistance is offered to students belonging to reserved categories. Fees are 75000 per year. 5000 is the security amount that gets reimbursed when you complete your course. There are ample opportunities through which u can apply for a scholarship. It's a bit expensive for students coming from financially weaker sections.

Campus Life :

Anugoonj is the annual fest that is hosted on the main campus. The classes for MA are held on the main campus in Dwarka. So it's a grand campus with numerous facilities available like Canteen, café, small shops, Post office, and Kendriya Bhandar inside the campus. Books are available in the 2-storeyed library present on the campus. The classes are centrally air-conditioned.

Why you should come to JNU?

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because I have an interest in historical studies and also graduated in history Hons. Here we have imparted research oriented studies. The faculties take care of every individual student. The medium of instruction and exam is only English. There is a tutorial method for the overall development of students. There is a 10:1 ratio of students and teachers. The Faculties here are very supportive and are mostly senior professors. The University is very strict with its academic calendar. There is very much academic pressure and not any substitute for study.

JNU- an experience of a lifetime!

Placement Experience:

Since JNU is essentially a research institute, a majority of the students here pursue higher studies in academia rather than looking out for jobs. Still, that doesn't mean absolutely zero placement interests or opportunities. One can apply through the placement cell of the university and can grab a job offering a decent package. Talking about myself, I am a UPSC aspirant and belong to the other major lot of students from JNU, apart from those who pursue academics.

There are all sorts of professors in my course. Exams are held every semester with an assignment submitted beforehand for internals. The students number of masters in each campus is about 150. The course English gives detailed info on various periods in England, France, and India.

I choose it because it is a central-level university. If u have not too much time for class then u can take admission in ignou because it is a distance program. U can choose any college in ur are and u can attend class. The term exam is held at the right time and the exam is fair.
