REVIEW - IIIT KOTA

Remarks :

I gave Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and then appeared in the JOSSA counseling through which I got a seat at this college. The closing rank in 2020 was 29813 for all categories till CSAB round. After JEE exam JOSSA come up with a form on their site we have to fill out and fill in the colleges of our choice, if your rank comes under their closing rank then the seat will be allotted otherwise wait for other rounds. Total 6 rounds are there and after that 2 other rounds of CSAB.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course Curriculum is very apt with the current syllabus. Outdated courses have been excluded and the subjects being asked in entrance exams like GATE have been included. I choose this course because it guarantees a better placement than other courses and also due to my interest in tech. There are near about 200 students in a year having CSE and ECE two branches only and 20 faculties in total. Teachers are very well qualified in their respective fields having research papers published in reputed journals. The semester is completed within 5 months terms held at the gap of 2 months in a week. If someone attends classes regularly, he can easily pass the exams.

Internships Opportunities :

In my time no company visited for offering internships on campus. Students try off-campus internships. Overall internship offers are very less on campus. Students do their projects and subjects ready and get them there only.

Placement Experience :

Students got eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, OYO, Capgemini, Samsung SDS, Delloite, Cvent, Infosys, Adobe, Jio, and Goldman sachs are some of the previous recruiters. The highest package was 82 LPA and the average package was 14.9 LPA. I also plan to get the offer from some company.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The cost to study is somewhat similar to the other IIITs as IIITs are based on a public-private partnership model (PPP) so their fees are more in comparison to NITs and IITs. Students got all types of Scholarships they are eligible for. Education loan is also provided by banks. Some teachers allow students to work under them which gives exposure to students in the field they are working on.

Campus Life :

Flair Fiesta is the annual fest conducted in the month of march or April along with the tech fest and some hackathons. There is a full-fledged team in almost every sport like cricket , volleyball, basketball, football badminton, chess, and table tennis. Several sports tournaments are held from time to time and teams also participate in several events of other colleges like BOSM, and MST. There are several cultural and technical societies like INCOGNITO, ODYSSEY, NEON cinematic club, Algorithmus, Codebase, ARTIVE, and QNS. All these societies are run by students under the guidance of the Cultural arts and creative society (CACS) and various events, hackathons, and coding contests have been conducted by these societies from time to time.

Hostel Facilities :

Rooms are airy having a bed, table, and fan. Some hostels have Wi-Fi and some have LAN. The meal quality and menu of mess are also decent. There are committees for that if students want to change the menu or add some other items to the meal. Hostels are quite affordable and also the mess has a fee of 20000 per month. Rooms are allotted once you join the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose to engineer in computer science because I love computers and coding. The student ratio in college is good and the faculty are in good numbers. The faculty is well-qualified and their teaching is good. There are two mid-term and one final semester exam in one semester and it is quite difficult.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the semester. Various big companies visit the campus like Adani, tata, JSW, etc. The highest package recently is 16 lakhs and the average package is about 7 lakhs. In the mech department, more than 50% of students are getting placed. My plan is also to sit in the campus placements only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are two courses in B.Tech computer science and electronics and communications engineering in this college. Both branches have good faculty members and the placement record is fair enough for any aspirant. electronics and communications engineering are that branch is not for students who want to explore computer science. The main reason is that you will have to cover electronics as well because placement in computer science is very good whereas in ECE is not considerable.
