Remarks :
Admission at NIMS UNIVERSITY is quite easy for Physiotherapy and other ug courses as well. You just need to fill out their online application form, and then report to the university with your documents (mark sheet, certificates etc.). Then proceed with some fee formalities and you're done. Eligibility for Bachelor of Physiotherapy is passed class 12 with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology. The online Application form fee is 800 INR and with some offers, you may get it for 600 INR. No reservation benefits are available here at NIMS UNIVERSITY. One necessary improvement is that they don't tell us the approved class strength and actual class strength and fill students a lot more than the approved seats.
Course Curriculum Overview :
In my case, I was inclined towards physiotherapy because of its treatment methods and rehabilitation. Also, it has a great scope if you have good hands skills, which comes with practice. I choose NIMS university for physiotherapy as its fee structure is quite low as compared to other private colleges and also it has a super speciality hospital with a great patient flow which is necessary for medical students. The faculty here are good. In the physiotherapy department, all faculties are mpt or Phds. And for medical subjects in the physiotherapy department, we have faculties from its medical college, who are quite good. Their teaching method involves smart classes for theory and practical labs and Dissection Hall for practicals. Faculty to students ratio is not good as there are 350+ students in one batch and we face problems in class interactions. BPT here is a semester-wise course so we have our one semester of approx 6 months during which there are 2 sessional and 1-semester exams.
Internships Opportunities :
In Physiotherapy, an unpaid internship is provided by the college at Nims Hospital. Patient flow is good at this hospital and it's a good opportunity for a medical student to be placed in a hospital with good patient flow.
Placement Experience :
Placements in medical courses depend upon the person's skills and network. Although the university offers placement in its own hospital and also in Apollo and Max hospitals. But they are few. So it's better to build your skills and network and find it yourself.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For Bachelor of Physiotherapy BPT, they charge tuition fees of 75k per year + semester exam fees of 8k per semester. Along with that, we have to submit 1) 6k per year for sports club amenities (gym, swimming pool, Basketball tennis etc.) 2) 5k for uniform one time 3) enrollment fee of 2k 4) id card fee of 100 rupees. I haven't seen any fee hike till now. A 50% Scholarship in tuition fees for 1st year is given to students who have secured 75% or above marks in class 12th boards. They provide unpaid internships here at NIMS hospital.
Campus Life :
Campus life at NIMS UNIVERSITY is good. They organise a lot of fests, seminars, workshops etc. They often invite Bollywood celebrities and singers, NIMS annual sports fest SPRADHA is a big event of the university in the month of April in which there is an inter-college competition in 16 different sports. Nims has a quite good Library of different departments. The central library has a variety of medical books along with a huge reading hall and a separate section for computers with a good internet connection. Apart from the central library, there is another library in the physiotherapy department with a huge reading hall. All the classes have either a smart board or projector to learn from ppts and animation. No ACs in classrooms.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are good when it comes to affordability, as they offer hostels with food and laundry. 4 beds room at 80k 3 beds room at 1 lac 2 beds room at 1.6 lacs 1 bedroom at 2 lacs Entry and exit timings on campus for hostelers are strict. And also there are security guards patrolling 24/7 on the campus for security. The registration process is simple it would be done on the availability of rooms which are almost always available if you convince your counselling guide. Meal quality is ok. Food is nutritious but not that tasty... Oil is highly used in fried stuff.
