SVIMS Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria 

Here is the eligibility criteria for Ph.D. under various faculties at SVIMS: 

  • Faculty of Medicine: MD/MS, DM/MCh or M.Sc. (Medical) Degree in Human Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology and Microbiology from University recognized by the UGC.
  • Faculty of Allied Health Sciences: M.Sc. Degree (Non-Medical) in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or any of the other Life Sciences Subjects & Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) recognized by the Veterinary Council of India.
  • Faculty of Physiotherapy: Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) Degree awarded by the University recognized by the UGC.
  • Faculty of Nursing: M.Sc. Nursing or any equivalent postgraduate degree in Nursing offered by an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of 60% Marks during postgraduation with 3 years of teaching or clinical experience after their M.Sc.(Nursing) or MPhil (Nursing).

Candidates with M.Sc. or MPT must have scored a minimum of 55% Marks in Aggregate. A relaxation of 5% marks from 55% to 50% is allowed to SC/ ST/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ Differently-abled Candidates. The age of the candidate should be below 45 Years as of July 01, 2024.

SVIMS Ph.D. Selection Criteria

Here is the selection process for SVIMS Ph.D. Admission 2024:

  • Candidates who have qualified for JRF via UGC-NET or CSIR-NET need not appear for the entrance test.
  • For Ph.D. seats left over after JRF candidates, an entrance exam will be conducted followed by an interview.
  • Weightage shall be given 70% to the Entrance Examination and 30% to the interview for the final merit list. 

SVIMS Ph.D. Entrance Exam 

SVIMS Ph.D. Entrance Exam shall be conducted in Two Parts with 50 Marks each.

  • Part I will be a common paper for all candidates and shall be on the subject of Research Methodology.
  • Part II will be concerned with the subject of the Department of Study applied for.
  • SVIMS Ph.D. Entrance Exam will consist of 100 MCQs (50 Questions in Part I and 50 in Part II).
  • Each question shall carry one mark and there will be no negative marking.
  • The duration of the SVIMS Ph.D. Entrance Exam will be 3 Hours.
  • The minimum mark for qualifying in the entrance exam will be 50%.
