Ques. How good is NLSIU when compared to other colleges across the world?

● Top Answer By Sapna Malik on 25 Oct 21

Ans. It is very difficult to compare NLSIU with all the other law colleges in the world. But one thing’s for sure it is not among the best institutes around the world.  But every NLS graduate receives immense opportunities, including pursuing Masters from top law schools and practicing at the best law firms across the world. Therefore, it can be said that NLSIU is one of the best law colleges in the country.Read more

Ques. How difficult is the MBL offered by NLSIU?

● Top Answer By Sapna Malik on 25 Oct 21

Ans. The Masters in Business Law (MBL) course from NLSIU is not difficult but the course work is more rigorous than LLB coursework.  Law as a subject in itself requires a thorough readership and effort to get into every detail. It offers 10 subjects. Students with a working background could find it difficult to tackle both sides. The questions asked in the exams are straightforward compared to the question papers that are set for the regular course students. Most of the students who fail in the examination are because they are working so taking out time from their schedules to study for exams becomes hectic. However, if you are interested in doing the course then it is highly recommended.Read more

Ques. What kind of hardships do students suffer in top law colleges like NLSIU, Nalsar or NUJS?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at NUJS. According to her, hardships have varied reasons from academics to personal. The Cases/readings are worth easily 500 pages every day, preparing summaries/case briefs, Tutorials and then projects, presentations, vivas, and the tiring final semesters all comprise the academic hardships. Due to internships, you will miss your vacations. Internships are a temporary glimpse into what life will be like. After getting the grind to excel and to get placed / PPOs, some students suffer from existential crises, emotional upheavals, urge for infinite sabbaticals, etc.  The burden of studies and placements takes a toll on your personal life.  Case briefs become a reason for discord rather than unity.  The healthy competition suddenly gets replaced by a rat race.  Lastly, all the things like hobbies, extra-curricular, etc. disappear. But even after all the hardships, it still is the best time of a student’s life at NLSIU.Read more

Ques. What is the scope and benefit of the Masters in Business Laws (MBL) course from NLSIU?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. Masters in Business Law (MBL) from NLSIU is not UGC recognized. If you are an average student willing to pursue this, it is suggested that you look for other options. This is because passing is a tiring task here., it will gradually become harder to drag it for the remaining years. You also have to pay an extension fee of INR 5000 every year. There are better courses available. Do some market research and then apply, do not get excited with just the brand name NLSIU. This course also has no market value. Companies prefer regular courses or professional courses.Read more

Ques. Is studying law at NLSIU a good option? Many of my friends dropped out of there saying it was very hectic and boring with no extracurricular.

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. It can be said that NLSIU is the best institute for law. Here are some reasons as to why. The library at NLSIU is one of the biggest in the country.  As far as extracurriculars are concerned, every trimester has something to offer.  In the first semester, there's Spiritus which is the biggest sports fest among all the law schools with participation from more than 20–30 colleges.  In the second trimester, there are Strawberry fields which is one of the biggest music festivals in the country with the participation of more than 60 bands from all over the country.  Lastly, in every trimester there's also some sporting event within the campus like gully cricket league, football league, and basketball league, and so on.  If you include debate moots, etc. it has so much to offer.  In the third semester, a whole week is devoted to extracurriculars from dance to music to dress-up competitions, etc. Studying at NLSIU is hectic but never boring and the statement about no extracurricular activities is false. There are so many extracurricular activities that you might sometimes get confused about which to take part in.Read more
