SRTMUN Admission

Each course offered at SRTMU has its own eligibility criteria which need to be strictly followed. The PG courses offered in the university take about 2 years to complete and have a count of 10-60 seats depending upon the discipline and the course type. The admission in the university is mostly on the basis of merit. Although, certain programs require the candidates to clear a common entrance exam (CET) conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE)

Ph.D. admissions are done through a university entrance examination, commonly known as PET (Ph.D. Entrance Examination). Only shortlisted candidates on the basis of their performance in PET are considered for Ph.D. admission. MBA Admission is done on the basis of the entrance exam i.e. MAH CET

SRTMUN Timetable

The syllabus at Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded has been divided into two semesters i.e. Odd Semester and Even Semester. Examination for winter semesters is conducted in the month of December while examination for the summer semester is conducted in the month of May/June.

Following are the facilities offered by Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMUN) to cater to the needs of the students:

  • IT Infrastructure: A total of 6 workstations are available in the university out of which 2 are connected to the Internet. Apart from this, 1 Server, 6 Printers, 2 Scanner + 2 Barcode Scanner, 2 Webcam & 1 Fax machine are also available.
  • Library: The library consists of 7 fully computerized sections with Internet facility for registered members. A repository of 69140 books with 6337 back volumes & 1915 Ph.D. It has also subscribed to 131 Indian, 30 Foreign, 23 Newspaper, 20 Magazines & 4000+ E-Journals.
  • Hostel: The university provides hostel facilities to both male and female students enrolled in the academic programs. There are 3 boys’ hostels with an intake capacity of 300 students. On the other hand, 4 hostels are available for girls students with an intake capacity of 344.

Ans. Post Graduate Certificate Course in Women’s Studies (PGCCWS) is a 1-year course focusing on women issues and opportunities in Indian society. The diploma course allows admission to students who have Graduated with 50% marks. The total fee for the program is INR 500.

Ques. How are the hostels of the university?

Ans. University provides good hostel facilities to non-local students. Boys’ hostel has 212 rooms and Girls’ hostel has 260 rooms respectively which are ventilated and well furnished with fan, cots, tables, chairs, cupboards, tube lights, dust-bins, and door-mats, etc. The hostels are well equipped with all basic facilities like water coolers & filters, solar water heaters, electrical geysers, T.V. sets, etc. The admission to the hostel strictly given on merit basis to UG, PG, and Research scholar from all schools on the campus on demand and supply basis. Students profile is maintained by the hostel office. There is ‘Earn and Learn Scheme’ runs for economically backward students in the hostels. The resident students are charged with reasonable fees, which are collected annually.

Ans. Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University is in Nanded. You can reach up to the city by air or train. Nanded is connected by Air service to Mumbai, Delhi, and Nagpur. The city has a daily flight service to Mumbai, Delhi, and Nagpur. The nearest international airport to Nanded is in Hyderabad.

Ans. Currently, the Distance Education department of the SRTMUN is running Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs like B.A., B. Com, and BBA in a semester pattern as per the University Syllabus and examination pattern. SRTMUN DDE also offers 12 postgraduate courses like MA Marathi, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Political Sciences, History, Sociology, Public Administration, Economics, and Master of Commerce in External Mode under annual pattern. From the last 5 years, the growth in the registered students is tremendous. Last year near about 4000 students has been admitted for the postgraduate courses run by the distance department.

Ques. What is the registration process for SRTMUN DDE?

Ans. SRTMUN DDE registration and admission process is conducted at the Study centers. The Directorate of Distance Education (External Mode) advertises admission notice for all the approved programs. Generally, the admission process begins in the month of July every year. The admission schedule is uploaded on the website and the admissions are conducted accordingly. The admission forms are included in the prospectus and also uploaded on the website. After the notification, the prospects are sold at the study center. The student can select the nearby required study center convenient for them. The students are required to confirm his/her eligibility as per the admission eligibility criteria. The students are also required to submit the duly filled application form along with the necessary attested photocopies of each supporting document and required fees at the study center. Filling of the examination form, examination fees, hall tickets all such activities will be conducted at the study center. The students are required to pay the fees as per the university schedule. The late fees facility is also made available by the center. Ans. SRTMUN has a placement unit at the sub-center to coordinate the project work and placement activities of the students under a coordinator. The placement cell is assisted by other senior faculties of the schools. Industrial houses, Firms, NGOs, Academic/ Research institutions, and other private recognized organizations are invited to interact with the students for selection, training, and recruitment. The students are guided to prepare their profiles for such activity. Counseling and assessment of students are scientifically conducted on a continuous basis by experts in relevant fields. The placement officer of the university also helps the Institute to provide appropriate inputs to induce quality and betterment.

Ques. I am planning to pursue M.Sc from SRTMUN, do students of M.Sc at SRTMUN get placements?

Ans. Yes, in February 2020, the university invited many companies to recruit students from the university. Students of M.Sc (Chemistry) and B.Pharma (Formulation Plants) at Quality Departments who completed the course successfully in the year 2017, 2018, and 2019 were asked to submit their resume for the recruitment process. The eligibility criteria for placement required 60% marks, written test, technical knowledge, concluding on HR interview round.
