Remarks :

My Institute is an Institution of National Importance. Though being one of the newer NITs, academically its better than many of the older NITs. Our college has been ranked 61st in the 2020 NIRF rankings and is ranked 14th among all NITs. Moreover the placements are very good. Most of faculty members are also very good and are highly qualified. Being close to my house is an additional perk for me.

Placement Experience :

The placements here up to the mark and are only improving every year. This year the highest International package was around 82 LPA and the highest domestic package was around 42 LPA. Some of the companies that visit NITM are Microsoft, Amazon, HP, L&T, Powergrid, Mater Card, Nissan, etc. The institute also boasts an impressive 100% placement rate.

Ques. Which one is better-NIT Uttarakhand or NIT Meghalaya?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. The choice generally depends on the certain individual and what he prefers. Both of these institutes started in the same year. They are both new NITs so they come with their fair share of pros and cons. One of my friends did his Master’s from NIT Meghalaya. According to him, it still has a lot to work on and improve, be it their infrastructure, research grants, etc.  The permanent campus is under construction. The Electrical Engineering department has better-equipped labs than the other departments. If you are willing to pursue a Master’s program then it is recommended you opt for any other college rather than the two mentioned. Categories NIT Uttarakhand NIT Meghalaya Course Fee 5.82 lakh 6.1 lakh Placement Percentage 80% 80% Highest CTC 15 LPA 11-12 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA 6-7 LPA Recruiting Companies Amazon, TCS, etc. Vedanta, L&T, etc. NIT Uttarakhand and NIT Meghalaya are both tier 3 institutions, so the outcome of graduating from these will definitely differ. Though NIT Uttarakhand has been known to improve their placements every year. But they have a lot to develop to reach the status of tier 1 or 2 colleges.Read more

Ques. Is it better to take ECE in NIT, Nagaland or EEE in NIT, Meghalaya (on the basis of future job prospects)?

● Top Answer By Risha Sinha on 05 Jul 21

Ans. EEE and ECE are both totally different branches and both of them have their respective job opportunities. After a lot of research, I got to know about NIT Meghalaya and Nagaland. Let me discuss them, which might give you a better idea. In today’s world ECE has more opportunities in the private sectors whereas EEE has got more opportunities in government sectors. They also have different requirements for the jobs. In ECE you just need to maintain a good CGPA, with the basics fully memorized and you are good to go. For EEE and getting a government job like PSU, you need to apply for GATE and get a good rank and score. Placement in the ECE stream is easier than the EEE stream. The placements of NIT Meghalaya are a little above Nagaland. You can change your course in NIT Meghalaya to ECE even after selecting EEE in the first semester. Categories ECE in NIT Nagaland EEE in NIT Meghalaya Course Fee 5.40 lakh 6.10 lakh Highest CTC 11 LPA 17.2 LPA Average CTC 5 LPA 5.2 LPA The most important thing is to make a choice based on your preference of course rather than the institute name since both of them are on equal terms in all aspects.Read more

Ques. Which one is better, NIT Sikkim EC or NIT Meghalaya EC?

● Top Answer By Asmita Khandelwal on 23 Jun 21

Ans. Both NIT Sikkim and NIT Meghalaya are decent institutes for the EC branch. But, considering the placements of both institutes, NIT Sikkim is a better choice. Considering the college rankings, NIT Meghalaya is ahead of NIT Sikkim. But, the placement of NIT Sikkim EC is much better than that of NIT Meghalaya EC. In the on-campus placements of NIT Sikkim, even reputed companies like INTEL visit and hire a considerable number of students. Other than these, pool campusing options are always in hand for students in EC. 2020 Placement Statistics Average CTC 8.5 LPA Highest CTC 18 LPA Top Recruiters Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra The facilities at NIT Sikkim are great. Like every NIT, it has an NKN broadband connection throughout the campus which gives excellent speeds in LAN. Maximum speeds of up to 100-150 Mbps can be obtained in it. The faculty in NIT Sikkim is very good, most of them being from IITs themselves. The campus of NIT Sikkim is situated in an amazing place, having an excellent atmosphere all around. The beauty of the town is mesmerizing. Although there is no permanent campus for NIT Sikkim, students don’t face any major lack of facility. EC at NIT Sikkim is a better option, considering the placements in recent times.Read more

Ques. Which is a good choice, PEC Chandigarh or NIT Meghalaya?

● Top Answer By Sounak Banerjee on 02 May 21

Ans. PEC Chandigarh and NIT Meghalaya, neither of them are good colleges as of now due to some major reasons.  NIT Meghalaya: NIT Meghalaya is situated in the northeastern part of India and it is a newly built NIT.  It now comes at the bottom among all the NITs of our country. This is because of the poor and temporary management faculty and it doesn't even have a campus of its own.  The placements here are currently very poor as this college is newly built. It will take its time to get exposure and recognition which can attract top companies to visit for campus placements.  PEC Chandigarh: PEC Chandigarh is not a great college as students scoring lower ranks like 40k or more can also get admission at PEC. The placement records are also very poor here. And being at PEC Chandigarh you will also not get the NITian tag which can be very helpful while looking for jobs.  It is suggested to take a year drop and start preparing for JEE Main properly and aim to score higher marks. Appear for the January exam and not the April exam as almost every student targets for it and it can be very difficult to score higher rankings as competition will get very tough. January exam will have less competition and it will be easy to get higher rankings which can indeed open possibilities to get admission in one of the top IITs or NITs. Read more

Ans. NIT Meghalaya is ranked 68th among the engineering colleges in India by NIRF Ranking 2019. The placement record of this institute is quite good by providing almost 90% placements every year.  NIT Nagaland is one of the 30 NITs in India by having its campus and providing all its students’ requirements. The institute ranks 151 by NIRF Ranking and provides nearly 80% placements every year.  Admission process: NIT Meghalaya The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for BTech is 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 75% marks.  The candidates have to pass the JEE Main exam followed by a JoSAA counselling to get admission. The cutoff required is 10930 - 29211. The fee required is INR 5.68 LPA.  The total intake is 646. NIT Nagaland The admission process for BTech is a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 along with JEE Main. The final selection requires JoSAA counselling conducted by the institute.  The cutoff required for admission is 1338 - 3011. The fee required for admission is INR 4.8 LPA. The intake for admission is 205. Placements: NIT Nagaland hosted over 12 recruiters from various sectors of the industry. NIT Meghalaya witnessed the participation of 102 recruiters.  Both these institutes offered 105 placement offers in top-quality companies. The department of CSE got the highest placement in both the institutes.  Categories NIT Meghalaya NIT Nagaland Placement rate 100% 80% No.of students placed 104 70+ Highest package INR 14-18 LPA INR 13 LPA Average package INR 6.2 LPA INR 5 LPA The top recruiters are Infosys, L&T Infotech, Byjus, Qualcomm, Amazon, Wipro, IBM, Accenture, TCS, etc. Faculty: The faculties of both these institutes are always there for the students to clarify the doubts. They always motivate and inspire the students in all possible ways. NIT Meghalaya consists of 80 faculties while NIT Nagaland consists of 45 faculties.  Campus life: The library of NIT Meghalaya has a collection of 13000 books on various topics. There are 5 hostels for boys and 2 for girls with a capacity of 460 and 140 respectively.  NIT Nagaland has six hostels with each having a capacity of 60 students. Both NIT Meghalaya and NIT Nagaland provide above 80% placements like other NITs. Hence, it can rightly be said that both these NITs will be more than a right place for studies and placements for the students in the long run.Read more
