IIIT Lucknow MTech Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Candidates must have passed BE/ B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognized institute with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
- A relaxation of 5% is provided to SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Candidates must also have secured at least 1st division in the 10th and 12th examinations.
- Candidates must also appear for and qualify for GATE with a valid score.
IIIT Lucknow Admission Procedure
The admissions to the MTech program at IIIT Lucknow are based on a candidate’s combined performance in the last qualifying examinations, GATE, written entrance test, and personal interview. The institute conducts its own written entrance test for admissions to the course followed by a personal interview.
- Candidates who appear for GATE have to undergo centralized counseling conducted by CCMT.
- Shortlisted candidates will then be called for a written entrance test or personal interview via email at the institute.
- Candidates who succeed in the written entrance and personal interview round then need to deposit the required tuition fee to finally secure a seat at the institute.
- If the seats remain vacant, candidates whose names appeared on the waiting list will be offered a seat after the successful payment.

- GATE CS comprises a total of 65 questions including MCQs, MSQ, and NAT and the exam duration is 3 hours.
- General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Subject Specification are the three sections carrying a weightage of 15%, 13%, and 75% respectively.
- Digital Logic, Computer Organization and Architecture, Programming and Data Structures, Algorithms, etc are a few important topics covered in the GATE CSE syllabus.

- IIIT Lucknow provides MTech in Computer Science for a minimum duration of 2 years, i.e, 4 semesters.
- For the successful completion of the course, students are required to earn at least 64 credits.
- The MTech degree is categorized into coursework and thesis work which consists of 48 credits and 16 credits respectively.
- Each course consists of 4 credits. Students must score at least 16 credits in core courses in the 1st semester.
- Students are required to choose 4 elective subjects from the available options in the second and third semesters and prepare a thesis in the 4th semester.
