The students can start applying for placements in their last year. Many companies including top MNCs visited the campus. IITT doesn't promote the idea of advertising the college through placements, but the placements are actually jaw-dropping for a new college like this. Despite being a 3G IIT, the location plays a crucial role in the placements here. Tirupati is a prime location- 2 hours from Chennai, 3.5 hours from Bangalore, and 6-8 hours from Hyderabad. It has a lot of connections with close institutes like IITM, IISc, CMI, IITH, IIITH, IISERTPT, etc which makes it a must-visit spot for companies and their HR agents. The highest package in the year 2021 was nearly 72 lakh, which is insanely high for any new IIT and had overtaken the highest package at IITH and IIT Indore. In 2022, in phase 1 of the placement, a student from civil engineering got the highest package of nearly 83 LPA, which again was the highest among all the new IITs by a huge margin (IITH had a highest at 63.5 L)
Admission to any IIT is through the JEE examination. All the other information would be available on the institute website. The college offers 5 core engineering courses as of now, and all the BTech courses require the JEE. It also offers MS, MTech, and MPP programs along with a Ph.D. program in related fields of science and engineering.
Placements are quite good, considering new IIT or 3rd generation IIT. The average package for B.Tech is 15.45 LPA and the highest package went for 69.45 LPA. More than 140+ companies visited here and offered more than 211+ offers. 95% of students get placed.
Obviously, you will get into this college after giving Jee advanced. The admission process is smooth, once you come to this college. There are scholarships who have a family income below 5 LPA. 2/3 of the tuition fee will be waived if your family income is below 5 LPA and the whole tuition fee will be waived if you are sc/ St or have a family income below 1 LPA.
I had an interest in this course, so I have taken that course. The faculty and student ratio is 1:9, i.e. one professor is available for 9 students, but the goal is to reduce the ratio. All of the faculty members have minimum qualifications for Ph.D., Many of the professors are from IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, and different prestigious universities across the country. Many of the professors are working with industries and have good connections in the industry. The teaching methodology is simple, they manipulate things in a very simple and easy way which is easily understandable by the students. If students are attending the classes properly and if they are quite active, they can score good marks easily, But if the student is not active in class, it will be difficult for him to get at least passing marks.
To get a seat in any IIT, first, you need to crack IIT JEE advanced, Your rank should be under AIR 12000 to get a seat from the general quota. After the JEE Advanced result, there will be a JOSAA counseling process, You have to participate in JOSAA counseling, Seat will be allotted based on your rank. Reservation is available for ST/SC categories, Students having very less AIR but having a good category rank (under 1000) in ST/Sc category can get a seat in IITs.
