Candidates who do not have UGC-NET or M.Phil. are also eligible to apply, provided they have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience (acquired after obtaining the qualifying degree (M.A. Philosophy))

For General/OBC category candidates and/or for candidates where no concession in academic performance is called for, the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree is First Class, as specified by the candidate’s Institution/University. If the Institution/University does not specify the division/class, then one of the following will be considered as the eligibility criteria:

• a minimum of 55% marks (without round-off) in aggregate. (OR)
• a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 5.5 on a scale of 10; 

For SC/ST/PwD category candidates,

• a minimum of 50% marks (without round-off) in aggregate. (OR)
• a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 5.0 on a scale of 10;

TA Category Fees (Grand Total):-

For General/EWS/OBC category – Rs 61,900 

For SC/ST category – Rs 59,400

Project/External/FA/Other categories Fees (Grand Total):-

For General/EWS/OBC category – Rs 84,400

For SC/ST/Divyangjan category – Rs 59,400 

Note:-

a. All the SC/ST/Divyangjan students are exempted from payment of Tuition fees.

b. *Students not staying on campus or not provided with married accommodation are not required to pay hostel fees 

c. IIT Dharwad reserves the right to revise the Tuition Fee-Statutory Fee (in the future).

The institute offers admission to MS under 2 specializations and a Ph.D. in 3 disciplines. Students with Graduation and Post Graduation degree can apply for admission to MS and Ph.D. respectively.

Selection to the course will be based on the marks secured in the written test along with the performance in the interview conducted by IIT Dharwad.

The application form for admission to the courses can be downloaded from the website of IIT Dharwad and it can be submitted with the application fee of INR 200/- (for General Candidates) or INR 100/- ( for SC/ST/Women Candidate).
