- The Master of Education is generally completed over a two-year period for full-time students, and over a longer period for part-time students.
- The MEd Program is designed for those students whose primary interest is in developing further their professional practice.
- MEd students complete their programs by writing a graduating paper (EDST 590) which can take a number of forms, including writing a substantial essay on a particular topic that includes a review of relevant literature, or the creation of a curriculum or policy that is directly relevant to their workplace.
- Some program concentrations give students the option of completing one or more elective courses as an alternative to writing a graduating paper.

Students have the option of:
(1) completing 27 credits of course work and a three credit graduating paperor
(2) completing all 30 credits through course work.

The MEd degree provides a rich learning environment for studying educational theories, methodologies, and problems which can then be transferred to work in schools, the workplace, the non-profit sector, and community leadership.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a four-year Bachelor's Degree or a Master's degree required with First Class/Division with 65%.
Indian student requirements
- A four-year bachelor's degree or a master's degree.
- The bachelor’s degree with 65% marks or 8 on a 10-point scale.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program

To apply for the M.Sc Finance program of UBC you must have a four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last two years of study. You must also have at least studied one calculus course and one linear algebra course. International students must submit a valid ELP test score. GMAT score of 550 is preferred.
