AOT Hooghly is often talked about but it is very overrated. The cutoff and the closing rank are not good. Haldia Institute, on the other hand, is a much better option. You will definitely feel a difference here. CSE is the best branch here and great opportunities are offered by the institute. Heritage Institute of Technology would be a better choice. Since it has become autonomous, it has advantages over institutes that are under WBUT. Heritage will provide you very good exposures in both from the academic and the industrial point of view. You will also be aided in your research and project oriented internships from the faculty. It is one of the best institutes for pursuing engineering not only in Kolkata but in West Bengal. The environment of HIT is also excellent for studies.
