Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology, Vellore offers admission to its postgraduate ME programs on the basis of performance inTANCET, the state level entrance conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates should havepassed at the undergraduate level from the relevant stream in order to be eligible to apply.

TANCET consists of a 2-hour paper with 115 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the field as studied at the undergraduate level.

The paper is divided into three sections, of 20 questions, 35 questions and 60 questions each.
1 mark is awarded for every correct answer and 1/3^rd mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
