Ques. Are Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies different colleges or the same?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Aug 21

Ans. Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies is two completely different institutions. The common thing between them is that they are registered under the same trust names SVKM.  NM College is affiliated with Mumbai University whereas NMIMS is deemed to be a university. Both are very different.  NMIMS, being an autonomous institute, has its own syllabus and courses made and updated by itself.  NMIMS offers many courses with lots of changes in the syllabus like B.com (Hons.), BBA, B.sc, Finance, B.sc Economics for undergraduate and MBA and others for post Graduate.  NM College offers courses such as B.Com, Bachelors in Management Studies (BMS), Bachelors in Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelors in Financial Markets (BFM), and other postgraduate courses as well. NMIMS has better academics because their courses and syllabus are regularly updated according to the response given by the students. They can update their syllabus however they seem fit but on the other hand, NMCCE is under Mumbai University which does not change its syllabus frequently and has outdated courses too. Moreover, the fee for NMIMS is way higher than NMCCE which is considered affordable.Read more

Ques. How do I get admission through management quota in Narsee Monjee college of commerce and economics I have scored 93.4% in 12th class?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 20 Aug 21

Ans. To get admission through the management quota depends on various factors. One among them is the course you are enrolling for. Another way is to have links with high authority as it will make it slightly easier. Other than that, you can also get through the management quota if you have an outstanding profile. With your mentioned score, it will be difficult to get a seat there. Students through management quota are also recruited by companies such as Delloite, Accenture, Tata Capital, Edelweiss and etc. Although the students have to through the same placement process as the non-management quota students.Read more

It is one of the best colleges for commerce and as it is in Mumbai, placement opportunities are also good. Also it focuses on all the aspects, being it extra curricular or education. It has a brand name. While comparing it with other shortlisted colleges that I chose, this one was the best for commerce.

        Admission :

I opted for Bcom because I was pursuing CA along with it and it's an easy course as such. I chose this Institue because its one of the most renowned college and also called as a factory of CA as majority of the students are doing CA alongside their graduation. The admission process is simple. You need to log in into the Mumbai University and get registered and then fill a form over there. Next thing you need to do is to fill the form of the college once you get registered in Mumbai University. Soon the merit list comes out and you submit the required documents and you're done.

        Remarks :

It's a college that should be there in your list for sure. Be it any course.

My goal is to become a professor, for that I opted M. com after completing my graduation. This College hold 6th rank in the India, that why I am selected this collge and the best commerce faculty in the India. In this College, admission were done on the base of merit (marks of graduation). I took the admission in the year 2018.

        Remarks :

From my point of view, this is best College of India for the commerce and Economics. The professor is too good, they are supportive. They provide all the things which students required to enhance their skill. The best college in town with a balance mix of academics and extra curricular activities. The professor are the most knowledgeable and yet so approchable. This College gift an all rounded personality to its student.

        Admission :

NM College is one of the best colleges for Commerce Course which was one of the major factors that influenced me to seek admission in NM. I Opted Bcom because I wanted to pursue another course which required a lot of time dedication which I was only able to provide because I selected bcom since it requires minimal time for preparation. So the admission phase was divided into two phases one being opting through Quota schemes and the other being opting through general scheme the application for both was required to be made online initially and then once the online application was filled we had to submit the same at the college with the requisite documents After which the merit list would be announced by the college if your name comes in the merit list then you had to go to the college with a demand draft for the fees to secure your admission

        Remarks :

I'd say overall the college experience of mine was wonderful still I hope for the college to improve the curriculum but I cannot really expect them to do so since it is affiliated with Mumbai University so unless it operates seperately not being affiliated with Mumbai University I don't see any changes happening
