The social life at the campus is buzzing and very inclusive. With more than 10 clubs and 3 major committees, the campus is never short of events, competitions and activities. The learning experience at MDI Murshidabad is extremely practical with intuitive activities with spot mentoring.
There is no fixed annual fest as such. MDIM library has a vast collection of books. Classrooms have projectors and state-of-the-art facilities. Sports com takes responsibility for the entire event and there are more than 10 committees.
The hostel facility is excellent, rooms are even better than IIMs as confirmed by my friends. The meal quality is excellent. Registration is done on the day of arrival. All the students are very much happy with the hostel and mess facilities.
Yes, very good hostel and college life.. many books are available in Library and journals too. Many clubs and committees are run by the students like Finartha for finance, and Markrone for Marketing, and there are many clubs for HR, Supply chain, economics, etc too.
Life at the campus is very busy but becomes boring after a month or two when there are no events or club activities. The administration is very strict regarding partying and other recreational activities the campus. There is nothing to do outside the campus as well in the 50 km radius. Sports activities are decent along with many clubs and committees for every stream and specialization.
All the clubs and societies conduct their flagship events every year and they are really fun. All the colleges have almost similar clubs and committees and it is good to be a part but it is okay even if you are not a part of any club or committee
The hostel is fine, the cleanliness in the room could be improved but overall it is good. We have a fan in our rooms, but no ACs and coolers. Food also is decent and on special occasions, a special menu is prepared by the hostel and mess Committee.
Life at campus is quite happening since it involves a lot of competition from all aspects such as academics, sports, etc. The campus celebrates almost every big occasion all within itself starting from Ganesh Chaturthi to Diwali to New Year. The library holds a huge variation starting from non-fictional self-help books to trending fictional books. Apart from that, it also has extra books suggested by our professors. And it is available in such quantity that at least half of the students can have access to it. The classrooms have a gallery setup and include two projectors and one large whiteboard for 60+ students. Sport is a major part. Almost every time the field is occupied by any group for football or cricket. It also has a volleyball and badminton court. Further, it has a swimming pool, pool table, and table tennis. A social group is Prayas which carries CSR works and there are also academic clubs like finance, HR club, etc., and alumni, placement, and PR media committees.
There are four hostels two for boys and two for girls. One of the two hostels has double occupancy and the other one has single occupancy. My hostel has double occupancy with inclusions in a room like a mirror, attached washroom, personal almirah, study table, and personal bookshelf. The meal quality turned out to be better than the normal hostel food. And the menu holds variations having food from every zone of the country having the south Indian dish Idli for breakfast on any one day of the week and Bengali dishes, north Indian dish rajma. The menu keeps on changing every month. There is no separate registration process. the registration is done while paying the first installment of the fees. The hostel fee is Rs1,12,080 for one year which includes lodging and food. There is no option for renting a room or PG nearby since it is a residential program. One has to stay on campus and avail hostel to get admission.

The admission process included selection as per the CAT scores. The cut-off was around the 70 percentile. There was a separate form-filling process for MDI Murshidabad where post payment, candidates were shortlisted as per their scores and overall profile.
DMBy - DIVYA DRASHTA MOHAPATRAThere were only Personal Interviews during our admission process. I wish the college also includes Group Discussion as one of its parameters for admission. The admission process was quite smooth but a few changes like these are strongly recommended
