In order to be eligible for the MBA program at Thiagarajar School of Management, candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

Candidates must be a graduate in any stream from a recognized institute with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
Students graduating in May 2021 are also eligible to apply for the MBA course.
A relaxation of 5% in final aggregate scores is provided to SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Candidates must also be qualified in any of the entrance exams: CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ ATMA.

Thiagarajar School of Management admits candidates on the basis of their combined performance in last qualifying examinations and entrance exams. Appearing for and qualifying the entrance exams is a prerequisite to be eligible for the MBA programme at TSM.

Candidates are first shortlisted on the basis of their entrance test scores, prior academic performance and relevant work experience.
These shortlisted candidates are then required to appear for Written Ability Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
In the Personal Interview round, written, verbal and analytical abilities of the candidates are determined.
Final selection of the candidates is based on their cumulative performance in entrance exam, past academic record, work experience, GD, PI and WAT.
The weight assigned to each relevant parameter is as follows:
- Academic Performance in 10th, 12th, Undergraduate Degree/ Postgraduate Degree: 20%
- Scores in Common Admission Test ( CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ ATMA): 35%
- GD/PI/WAT: 30%

Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai provides a general management MBA course in specializations, namely, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Business Analytics, Human Resources Management and Systems for 2 academic years which are further divided into 6 trimesters. The course is designed to inculcate managerial skills and technical proficiency in young graduates so that they can continue to thrive in every sector of the economy.

In the first year, there are 456 sessions and the course work has 59 credits whereas in the second year, the course work has 360 sessions and has 48 credits.

Program Structure

Duration: The minimum course duration is 2 years whereas candidates are provided a maximum of 4 years, i.e, 12 trimesters for successful completion of the course. Each academic year comprises 3 trimesters, hence, the course comprises a total of 6 trimesters.
Course Structure: The first year comprises core courses aiming to enlighten students with fundamentals of management and aspects of industrial environment after the completion of which a 6-8 weeks internship in reputed firms and project work is mandatory for students. From second year onwards, candidates are required to choose and study elective courses as per their interest.
Summer Internship: Summer Internship Programme is an opportunity to convert the internship into a pre-placement offer and helps the students in career placements. This internship must be started in May/ June and can be availed through TSM itself.
Evaluation: Evaluation of students is done on the basis of their performance in Mid-Trimester Examinations, End Term Examinations, Internship Project Work etc. The weightage criteria is as follows:
- CA: 40 Marks
- ET: 60 Marks
- Total: 100 Marks
Financial Assistance: Merit based scholarships are given to students on the basis of their outstanding performance during the academic session. Moreover, education loan upto INR 10,00,000 with low interest rate and no processing charges is also provided to candidates.
