I am a student graduating with a specialization in social science. we are having good mentors and teaching staff. they are providing us with all related knowledge and experiences. the curriculum is all updated and it includes all the recent development in my field.
Candidates need to pass the 12th standard. If anyone takes honours 60% is required. Admission starts at the college website it's a long process. 4 to 5-time admission list is out. Then pay your admission fees online and after some days college calls you for physical verification.
In talks of the statistics department, the faculty is not quite up to the mark .but every other department has good facilities and specialized faculties. but statistics is a relatively new brunch so they are making progress internal exams are quite easy to pass. but it's hard to carry marks in a semester due to the exhausting marking scheme of University of Calcutta.
I just filled out the form released after the higher secondary examination by college officials. Then just waited for them to publish the merit list. A reservation scholarship is available and it's quite good as there is no restriction on attendance. a playground is quite big.
I choose this course as I took commerce in class 10+1 and I can see the opportunity of a job after doing this course. The student is almost 300 and it's divided into two sections 150 and 150. Bcom department teachers are very student friendly they will help you in every possible way they can, in projects exams and other curricular activities. All the teachers are highly qualified. Exams occur in the semester every 6 months, and exams are moderate difficulty, not too hard not too easy. A student who studies a little bit can pass easily.
The admission process is free. Vivekananda college has there own website where I apply for the course with my percentile and other personal details, if your name came in the cut-off list college will send you a payment page where you make the payment and that's all. You don't have to visit the college for admission. Eligibility for admission minimum of 60% in aggregate and 60% in Honours subject. Yes, Reservation is available for ST/SC/OBC. The website is very good and user-friendly no one will face any problems regarding admission.
