What students say about Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences - [PGIMS]

Likes

  • It has great scope and is close to my hometown, so I opted for it after my 12th class.
  • There is a good internship experience in this college. I have learned a lot, and there is great coordination among students.
  • Overall, it is a reputed college in North India, so you can easily obtain jobs in government or private hospitals.
  • Fees are moderate, and the college provides students with good chances for scholarships as well as good financial assistance.
  • There is a fest named Armscon in the college. It is a great college and a great opportunity to learn new experiences. The social life is excellent, and the interaction between students is also excellent.
  • The rooms are well designed, and each room has a separate pan card reading table and cupboard. The meal quality is also good, and the food is always tastier and healthier.
  • The admission process is very easy; you just have to fill out the form online. Offline verification of documents takes place after that. If your name comes up on the list, you will get admission.

Dislike

  • I always wanted to become a doctor. The student-teacher ratio is 1:2. All teachers here are very qualified and they are doctors themselves. Exams occur once a year; there is no semester system and they are quite difficult.
  • There is a 30000 fee hike in our college, as the previous fee was 52000. Now, the fee stands at 80000, and unfortunately, there are no scholarships or financial support available for students, despite the existence of a bond policy that discourages students.
  • Some students cannot secure a room in the hostel due to a shortage.
  • I dont remember anything bad, and I dont see any bad things that the faculty has done to us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I m interested in biological sciences so I chose this. Faculty of course are doctors themselves. Teachers are strict in terms of discipline the environment of college is friendly Exams are annual system in MBBS exams happen almost every week

Remarks:

Admission process is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance test (NEET). You need to clear the cut-off range and appear for the counselling process to opt for the college in all India counselling. You can also opt for the college by State counselling as well. After the exam is over and the result is declared, specific application forms, fees and dates will be displayed on the medical counselling committee (MCC) website.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I really wanna serve people by providing them with good health care. There are 250 students in my batch and around 10-15 professors for every subject. All the faculty members are MBBS MDs and super specialists. The teaching method is basically theory classes in lecture theater then practicals and postings in various departments. Term exams take around 1 month and are easy to pass.

Remarks:

To get admission to MBBS you have to clear the NEET entrance examination. Application forms for NEET are available on the official website of the National Testing Agency fee is around 1500. There is a 27% reservation for SC/ST candidates and 10% for OBC candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I always wanted to become a doctor. Although the curriculum is very vast and there is so much to learn. The faculty here is so helpful and we enjoy learning from them, especially in clinical postings.

Remarks:

NEET(UG) is the entrance exam for admission to MBBS according to rank. Application forms can be filled out online mode on the official website of NTA. After the result, the admission process starts. There is an All India Quota(25%) and State Quota(75%) in every college. Counseling is separate for both of these. Counseling is in three rounds. Colleges are filled according to preference and at the end of each round (if) you get into a college, it's up to you if you want to take admission to that or not. Then, there is document verification, and after you have to deposit the fee(tuition + hostel).

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to become a doctor that's why I choose this course I got a good rank so I qualified to be a doctor in one of the government medical Colleges. There are a lot of departments and because post-graduation is also there in pgims Rohtak, this creates a good teacher-to-student ratio. The best thing about the teaching method is clinical rotations which change monthly.

Remarks:

There is a competitive exam named NEET NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST, after getting a good rank in that(mine was 1219 in adm yr 2019) we can opt to govt medical Colleges like pgims Rohtak. But the problem in taking admission in recent times is that there is a bond policy under which the pupil has to serve in the government sector for a period of 7 years that's too long. And on top of that, the government is not taking responsibility to provide jobs. So overall my recommendation is to see elsewhere of Haryana if you can.

Placement Experience:

College provides an internship of one year but there are no criteria for placement but in internship, you can learn new skills and practical work which will help in improving your communication and clinical skills There is no placement from campus.

Remarks:

I have cleared the NEET exam and secured 16000 AIR and 570 marks in 2019. Then I enrolled for Haryana state counseling and got selected in this college in the MOP UP round, I have an OBC reservation and I was the last one to get a seat as the cut-off for OBC was 570. The admission process is very easy you just have to fill out the form online and offline verification of documents takes place after that if your name comes to the list you will get admission. My college is the best college in Haryana and has very good infrastructure and faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this because I want to become a doctor and it is a good course. Around 300 faculties are there in pgims which is a very plus point. Exams are once a year and I quite difficult to pass the university exams.

Remarks:

Yes, neet is the entrance exam. Reservations are there and are similar to other entrance examinations. After clearing the entrance there is document verification on this there is too much crowd so the process of document verification should be changed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The total duration of the MBBS course is 5.5 years. Faculty in college is well educated and trained for students in fact college has very good faculty in comparison to many medical colleges all over India. The teaching method is a bit old-fashioned but great

Remarks:

You can get admission to this college by cracking the NEET examination which someone could take after completing class 12 in biology. To get admission to this college person in the unreserved category should get an All India Rank under 2000.
