Ques. Which M.Tech program at ISI Kolkata is better, CS, QROR or Cryptology?

● Top Answer By Diya Barua on 21 Sept 21

Ans. After doing some research online, I would say that all the courses at ISI Kolkata are amazing if you know which field you have to choose. Everything depends on your choice of the field as every field is distinct from one another. Now, I would mention that for M.Tech CS & QROR, these are already well-established Programs and need no introduction.  QROR: It’s a course based on subjects in applied statistics and business analytics. If you want to be in Business Analytics, it’s better than CS & Crypto. CS: It has theoretical CS as well as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Courses. This will give you ample opportunity to do a Ph.D. as well as jobs in Data science positions. If you like coding and discrete mathematics etc then this is a zone to play in. Crypto: ISI has India’s best Crypto people. And this is the first year of M.Tech Crypto so there is not much data available. But if you are not good in Abstract algebra Number theory then say not to this course. Research opportunities after M.Tech Crypto will definitely be better than that of QROR or CS. I hope this helps you in clearing how all the three courses are distinct from each other. Each has its different criteria and comfort. Read more

Ques. How is Mtech in structure in jntuh?

● Top Answer By Namrita Banerjee on 03 Sept 21

Ans. One of my friends graduated from JNTUH in Transportation Engineering. Here is his review of the M.Tech courses offered at JNTUH. According to him, the academic environment of the institute is not that great. It is especially true for the Civil Engineering Dept. The department has experienced professors but they hardly take the classes. Obviously, it is not true for everyone but most of the professors are more engaged in their consultancy work than teaching.  The lab assistants are also not cooperative. If you don’t have a good relationship with them, then your project work can't go smoothly and it will take longer than the estimated time. The placement record for M.Tech branches at JNTUH is not that great. According to the recent placement highlights, the placement average for M.Tech is around 75% and the average CTC offered is around 9 LPA.  Regarding research, if you don’t have any new ideas for doing research then you will be given a research abstract, which was previously completed but with slight variations in it. The professor doesn’t encourage students to take on new research topics.  According to my friend, it’s better to keep JNTUH as your second preference. Choose Osmania University, if you have an option. Read more

Ques. How is NIT Rourkela for an M.Tech?

● Top Answer By Priyanka Rode on 15 Jan 22

Ans. One of my friends studied at NIT Rourkela. According to him, M.Tech here is taught well enough for students willing to opt for research and further studies. The placements of M.Tech are average and sometimes students even have to opt for pool or off campussing. The faculty members are highly qualified and have 20-25 years of educational experience. Lab facilities are good and have all the updated machinery. CSE department has a comparatively better placements than other departments. A 75% attendance is a must. In your 2nd year you need to do projects in college only, so you will get free time for the preparation of competitive exams. although you have to show progress in project work at that time to your guide.  This allowance is also depending upon the guide and your department. If you are inclined towards doing a Ph.D after M.Tech and research is your passion, then NIT Rourkela is the best option.  You can publish your research as a journal paper. Publishing a paper will get you a chance of doing Ph.D in prestigious IITs. If you are looking for placements then you will be disappointed. Lastly, here if you are planning to prepare for competitive examinations. You will get the proper time to prepare.Read more

Ques. Is it necessary to attend classes in Mtech from IET Lucknow?

● Top Answer By Shivaay Pandit on 10 Aug 21

Ans. The best part about IET Lucknow is the freedom it offers to the students. The college does not intend to restrict students to only academics. There is no pressure for attendance. However, some faculties might give weightage to attendance. So, if you can balance the academics and extracurricular, you can negotiate with them. Never give a chance to your teachers to point down your mistakes.  Consider the below-mentioned points for this. Decent grades and marks in the sessional tests can save you. The faculties consider assignments too. So, make sure to submit your quality assignment adhering to all the instructions before deadlines. There is no need for more pages. Be enthusiastic and noticeable in classes by raising questions or giving answers to the teachers. Also, respect your teachers. Try to attend the lectures by the permanent faculties as such lectures are rare. There are only a few such faculties in the college. But they have vast experience and knowledge. Some students fill the attendance by themselves as soon as the faculty leaves the register in the class. But it is risky, and there is a probability of getting caught. Lab lectures are easy to skip. You can mark your attendance and leave the lab. Overall, the classes are skippable in IET Lucknow if you have a decent image in front of faculties. Currently, compulsory attendance of 60% as per the rules of the new director is required, but 50% attendance will let you sit in exams.Read more
