DU LLB 2023 Eligibility: Qualification & Age

Given below are the qualifications and age limits required for DU LLB 2023 Exam:

  • General category candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation degree.
  • For SC/ST category, they must score 40% marks in their qualifying degree.
  • For OBC, PwD, and CW categories, a minimum score of 45% is required in the qualifying degree.
  • For General and OBC, candidates must possess a graduate or post-graduate degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi.
  • Candidates having a PG degree or appearing in the final year PG degree examination can also apply for the DU LLB 2023 entrance exam.
  • There is no age bar to appear in the exam as per the order of the Supreme Court of India.

Given below are the category-wise relaxations for DU LLB Exam Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must score at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in either of them. But, the cut-off marks for admission of OBC candidates shall be up to 10% less than the marks notified for general candidates in the Entrance Test.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates will be allowed to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates will be allowed to widows/wards of defense personnel (CW) category.
  • Relaxation of up to 5% marks in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates will be allowed to the candidates belonging to the physically handicapped (PH) category on the recommendations of the Medical Board.

DU LLB Exam 2023 Reservation Criteria

  • For DU LLB Exam 2023 Reservation Criteria, candidates are offered 301 seats out of 2611 seats in the LLB course of Delhi University, for supernumerary categories including those who are Physically Handicapped, War Widows, and Foreign Nationals.
  • Delhi University follows the Bar Council of India (BCI), University Grants Commission (UGC), and Government of India rules and regulations in order to offer relaxation seats to the reserved categories.

Following is the reservation criteria for candidates approaching admission in Law Institutes under Delhi University-

  1. Candidates who are claiming reservations under more than one category must indicate all those categories while filling the application form.
  2. If there is any vacant seat in the SC category, it can be filled by the ST category candidate and vice versa.
  3. Reservation for OBC candidates can be granted on the basis of the Central list.
  4. If there are vacant seats under reservation, they will be allotted to eligible candidates belonging to the general category.
  5. Although, supernumerary seats will not be allotted to any other candidate if left vacant.
  6. The Widows/ Wards of defense personnel (CW) shall be admitted as per 5 priorities listed below:-
    • Widows/ Wards of Defence personnel killed in action;
    • Wards of serving personnel and ex-servicemen disabled in action;
    • Widows/Wards of Defence personnel who died in peacetime with death attributable to military service;
    • Wards of Defence personnel disabled in peacetime with disability attributable to military service;
    • Wards of Ex-servicemen Personnel and serving personnel of the Defence/Armed Forces and all Police Forces who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards.
  7. The Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates shall be admitted according to the following categories:-
    • A person with low vision or blindness- 1%
    • A person having hearing impaired- 1%
    • A person with locomotor disabilities and/or cerebral palsy 1%
