How would you describe your leadership style?

“I am an active team leader who knows how to respect the self-esteem of others”

I would describe my leadership style as being direct, and leading by example. I believe in delegating tasks and taking the lead on projects. But, I like to stay involved and inspire my team by showing that I am working hands-on to help them, too. I am an active Team Leader who knows how to respect the self-esteem of others. So I can proudly claim my style as Participative Leadership.

What do you think should be the Education’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Highlighting and setting priorities for upcoming years”

The top priority of higher education in the next decade would most probably include the following aspects as per my thinking and vision:

  • Gross enrollment ratio (GER) in higher education is only 24.5. India to improve on GER with strong balance between quality and quantity. So the focus on education has to raise the desired levels of research and internationalization of Indian campuses.
  •  It is imperative to improve cognitive skills to make a difference at a higher level.
  • There is a need for expanding R &D in India and to go beyond paper presentations, publications and patents to a broader contribution of providing value for society.
  • Increase funding for research from the private sector as well as from state governments. The private sector should be incentivized to both undertake more R&D and to support educational research through CSR funds.
  • The most important option is to leverage the rich scientific diaspora that India possesses. The growing strength of India’s economy and growing anti-immigrant atmosphere in some western countries will provide a good opportunity to attract back more scientists and create vast opportunities for students in future. This should be our top priority.

What are your college’s greatest strengths?

The greatest strength of Sri Krishna College of Technology would primarily include the following key factors

  • Unique curriculum development, as a benchmark, to ignite young bright minds motivating them to invent and innovate.
  • Promoting innovative entrepreneurial spirit in students with meaningful application of technology for societal gains and a profitable venture.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

“Creating network and connections helps in longer run”

My key advice to students is that a narrow focus brings big results, understand the dynamics of change and be your best at all times. Also, a key advice would be to make good connections. I strongly believe in keeping intact with the best of my people because healthy work relationships start with good social skills. Being more approachable also helps me establish a healthy relation and environment in my institute.
