Bhavya Bhatt Admission Experience

Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Bhavya Bhatt: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Bhavya Bhatt: “GE and WAT both were online. For GE there were 6 people in my group. We were given a combination of 8 photos and texts, the task was to select a combination of images and text and make a coherent story. 60 secs to think, 60 secs each to narrate their own story, and then it was opened to the floor for the group to come to a consensus on a story as a group. Everyone got 60 secs individually to tell their own story and since it was a group exercise and not a GD everyone worked well to come to a conclusion. I would suggest the aspirants learn to think on their feet because at SIBM the process is set to test your ability to think on your feet and not current affairs or debating skills. Listen to all, not just to respond but to understand the direction in which discussion is going.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Bhavya Bhatt: “WAT: a photo and a newspaper clipping were given and we were asked to form a coherent story. The idea is to get to know your thought process and creative thinking. I don't remember the image or the text but I formed a creative story about world war and how people were sending telegrams at that time.”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Bhavya Bhatt: “For the GE I didn't form a great story from my set of images and texts, I accepted it and tried to become the leader in the group and didn't try to push my own story for the group to agree, Instead I heard everyone and made some notes, there were 2 common narratives running in the group and I put it on the table that we need to select one out of these two. We discussed and came up with one and the next part was presenting the story to the panel. Which became much easier since we came to a consensus before time. So I set the flow of the GE because I knew I could not make others agree on my story. ”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Bhavya Bhatt: “Personal Interview was online and it went really well. The panel was very friendly, it had one alumna and one professor(both female). There was a time limit given to the panel of 10 mins. At first, they made me feel comfortable and asked me if I were nervous. Then I was given an extempore, a case study, 60 secs to read, 30 secs to think, and 45 secs to answer. It went somewhat like this "You are the CEO of a beverage company and there has been a complaint that one of the customers was hospitalized because the drink was unhygienic. There was a lot of negative publicity for your brand and it was trending on social media. How do you go about clearing the bad image of the brand and creating a better brand name in terms of hygiene"
