A glimpse into the Realm of Illusions at ‘ELF presents TRANSCEND 2023’

With a legacy of over 30 years, Transcend - One of the most sought-after B-school festivals across the country, witnessed a footfall of over 12,000 people, with zealous participation in various management and cultural competitions from premier B-schools across the country, like IIMs, XLRI, NITIE, SPJIMR, NMIMS, and many more, this season.

This year, Transcend '23 was organized across three days on the 16th, 17th and 18th of January 2023, with the theme 'Realm of Illusions', breaking away from the limitations of Reality, to motivate the young minds in the country to think beyond the ordinary, achieve the exceptional, and contribute back to the betterment of the Nation and its people.

The official launch of Transcend 2023 began with an exuberant start in November 2022, with a soulful music performance by Ved Prabhu aka Hagrid Sings, followed by a stand-up performance by the celebrated stand-up comedian – Yash Rathi. Mr. Rathi captured the crowd with his enthralling set and on-stage antics, delivered in an unmatched mixture of humour and sarcasm, enhanced by his unique style of punchlines and audience engagement.

Transcend '23 organized nine top-notch national management events and six exceptional cultural competitions that tested the students' mettle from a holistic standpoint, combined with an unparalleled line-up of stand-up comedians and artist nights that left its visitors dazzling with awe. 

Transcend’s legacy of associations with renowned corporates, namely, IKEA, March & McLennan Companies, JIOSaavn, Coca-Cola, AB InBev, Canara Bank, Audi, Mercedes, Uber, Britannia, Mother Dairy, Paytm, etc. was relived yet another time with associations with over 60+ organizations across the world, that need no introduction.

The three days of Transcend experienced perpetual energy and zest from the audience and participants with management events like Last Man Standing, Strategia, Marketshastra, Chrysalis, Waste to Wise, The Great Bull, Opscon, Mindcraft, and The Company’s Act. They engaged the students to put their best foot forward intellectually.

Day 1 of Transcend '23 commenced with the inauguration ceremony featuring one of India's most beloved comedians Nishant Suri, who performed with a full house. This was followed by Fourth Wall, the theatre play competition and a mesmerizing evening of Grandeur Spectra, the Fashion Show competition set on the main stage of Transcend. The Artist Night for Day 1 opened the floor with a musical concert by the sensational and legendary Bollywood singer Javed Ali, a performance that continues to live in the hearts of every single stakeholder that was a part of the night. Javed Ali captured the audience with his live music that outshined his recorded musicals in absolute certainty, proving time and again that he is indeed the Legend of Bollywood Music, and the pride of Transcend ’23. This unrivalled night was concluded by a power-packed show from the one and only DJ RHT and the most vibrant and dynamic DJ Xtacy to wrap it all.

Day 2 opened with a soothing start through Meraki - the Solo-Singing competition of Transcend 2023 and the exciting Mr. and Ms. Transcend – The Personality contest, setting mood for the irresistible evening in store for our visitors. To kick start the evening, we had Battle of Chords – The Band Wars competition of Transcend 2023 that took the crowd on a rock and roll, followed by a breath-taking performance by the talented artist Vivek Singh followed by a striking show from DJ Ravator to knock the festivity up a notch. Indeed, a happening night that left each and every soul that joined us at Transcend ‘23 in a state of euphoria and ecstasy.

With the Grand Finale of Last Man Standing, the flagship event of Transcend, where the winner took home a whopping amount of 1.5 lacs, Day 3 of Transcend opened with a nerve-wrenching show. The golden feather to the beautiful afternoon was the performance from the King of Stand up, the pride of our comedy segment Punchline 3.0, the renowned stand-up comedian Rahul Dua who sent the audience on a laughing riot. Settling for nothing less, Team Transcend wrapped up the afternoon with a thrilling Group Dance competition - Dance-Ma-Tazz- that set the stage on fire. 

To wind up the grand event, a night filled with back-to-back performances from leading artists across the country had been mapped out. The night kicked off with a spectacular show by DJ Jammer, followed by a Headliner performance from none other than the ever-so-talented Arjun Kanungo that left the enthusiastic crowd longing for more. To take the night and its energy to new heights Band Sabali took over the stage, leaving the audience in reverence and admiration. To end it all on a grand note we had DJ Rhea with a rapturous performance bestowing the visitors of Transcend ‘23 with an experience of a lifetime that redefined their perceptions of reality.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune is back with the latest edition of the annual management & cultural fest, Transcend, which is one of the largest B-school fests in India. In previous years, Transcend has hosted prominent names such as Benny Dayal, Anubhav Bassi, Nishant Suri, Alia Bhatt, Mohit Chauhan, K.K., Divine, Sunburn, and many more on Campus. Transcend was crowned as the '9th Most Popular B-school Festival' by Dare2Compete in the year 2020. 

This year Transcend ‘23 is scheduled to be held on the 16th, 17th & 18th of January 2023 at SIBM Pune’s beautiful Lavale hilltop campus. Over the years Transcend has seen massive participation from B-schools across the country like IIMs, XLRI, NITIE, SPJIMR, NMIMS etc.

SIBM Pune takes a holistic approach to education, encompassing both academics and other cultural pursuits with the vision of "enabling people to lead remarkable lives thereby transcending the world to a better place." With this in mind, the theme of 'Realm of Illusions' is weaved throughout this year’s Transcend. The theme embodies the idea of creativity and innovation, thereby welcoming the Symbians and the B-School masterminds across the country to think beyond the ordinary and achieve the exceptional through the marvellous events and artist nights lined up just for them.

As a pre-buzz event for Transcend, the Co-Curricular Team of SIBM Pune organized a Bonfire Night wherein students sat under the stars and enjoyed beautiful baritones, singing and swinging with the tunes of winds.

It has grown into a melting pot of intellect and culture from prominent institutions around the country during the last three decades. This year's Transcend edition has fifteen top-notch national management, cultural and flagship events.
