IGNOU Improvement Exams can now be taken by the Students who couldn’t attain desired division due to fewer scores in the IGNOU Term End Exam. IGNOU Improvement Exam Eligibility Criteria

Not everyone can take the IGNOU Improvement exam. The following eligibility criteria need to be met to be able to take the exam:

• Students in Bachelor's or Master's degree programs who don't receive the 2% of marks necessary to place in the 1st and 2nd division
• Only those Master's degree program students who fall short by 2% of mark to receive a final grade of 55%.

Note: If both admission and re-admission have expired, the student will not be eligible to apply for the IGNOU Improvement exam.

IGNOU Improvement Exam Application Process

Candidates who wish to appear for the IGNOU Improvement exam can apply only through offline mode. The following steps are required to be taken to apply:

• Candidates can download IGNOU Improvement Form.
• Take the printout of the form.
• Fill out all the details carefully and attach the Term End Exam mark sheet photocopy to the form.
• Submit the fee through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in the favor of IGNOU payable in New Delhi.
• Submit the application form before the last date at the following address:

IGNOU Improvement Exam Fees

Depending on nationality, the IGNOU Improvement Exam application fee varies for each group. The following fees are charged for applying for the IGNOU Improvement Exam.

• IGNOU has established a fee of INR 750 per course for Indian students to apply to improve Division/Class.
• Students from SAARC nations must submit an application cost of Rs. 2000.
• The required cost for students from non-SAARC nations is $60.

IGNOU Improvement Exam Rules and Regulations

• There will only be one chance to improve the grades or marks.
• Only theoretical papers are allowed in the IGNOU Improvement Exam. There is no room for improvement in practical/lab courses, projects, workshops, assignments, etc.
• Under the Provision of improvement, a maximum of 25% of the maximum credits required for the successful completion of a program shall be permitted. 
• Students who wish to improve their grades must apply for IGNOU Improvement Exam within six months of the date their final grade report/grade card was issued to them.
• If the allotted time to finish the program, including the window for re-admission, has passed, students will not be allowed to take the IGNOU Improvement exam.
• The superior of the two examinations, i.e., the marks/grade already given and the marks/grade obtained in the improvement examination, will be taken into consideration after the improvement examination.
• If there is an increase, the term and year of the program's completion will be changed to the term-end exam that the students took to demonstrate their progress.
• As long as the test for the specific course in which they want to improve is being held at the university, students will be allowed to raise their marks or grades.
