Course Details
IGNOU BLIS admission 2024 for the January session has been started from December 15, 2023. The last date to apply is February 15, 2024. IGNOU offers a Bachelor of Library and Information Science [B.Lib.I.Sc] program at the UG level for a duration of 3 years. The maximum duration to complete the course can be extended up to 6 years. Admission to the program is offered on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. IGNOU BLIS Eligibility Criteria
For admission to the BLIS program, candidates must have passed:
- Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates)
OR
- Graduation with Diploma (at least 1 year) in Library Science
OR
- Graduation with 2 years of working experience in a Library/Information centre.
IGNOU BLIS Admission Process
Admission to BLIS is merit-based. The candidates must have scored marks in graduation to apply for the course.
- Visit the official website of IGNOU.
- Visit the Academic Counselor Portal.
- Click on Register Yourself.
- A new page will be displayed.
- Fill in all the compulsory details in the form like Your Name, Fathers/Mothers/Spouse Name, PAN number, Email, Mobile Number, Password etc and Click on the Submit button.
- Go to the Home Page.
- Click on Login.
- Enter your PAN number which is also your username and password along with security code and click on Login.
- A Dashboard containing all your personal information will be displayed.
- Click on New Application and then click Agree and Continue.
- Enter the program and course details, personal details, education qualification details, employment & experience details.
- Enter research & publication details.
- Upload photographs, documents and a signature.
- Now if you wish to change anything then click on Edit, otherwise click on Next. After upload click on Save.
- For the Final submission of the form, click on Final Submit and wait for further communication from the institute.

IGNOU BLIS Assignments 2024
Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. You are therefore advised to take your assignment seriously.
Non Submission of Assignment
The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

Ques. What is the mode of education for the IGNOU BLIS program?
Ans. In IGNOU, education is not imparted through regular classroom lectures but follows a distance education mode. This mode of learning is different from the conventional system as there will be no regular lectures relating to any course. However, there will be counselling for different courses included in the curriculum and the counsellor will be available to you at the Study Centre which organises counselling sessions on different topics.
Ques. What are the IGNOU BLIS fees and mode of payment?
Ans. The BLIS course fee is INR 5000 per semester and it may change as per the university guidelines. The student is recommended to ensure that he pays the specified semester fee online at the time of admission to the college.
Ques. What is the IGNOU BLIS revaluation process?
Ans. Candidates who are not satisfied with the marks in the Term-end Examination may apply for re-evaluation within one month from the date of declaration of results on payment of INR 500 per course by means of demand draft drawn in favour of IGNOU and payable at New Delhi in the prescribed application form.
Ques. Is there any age limit to apply for the IGNOU BLIS program?
Ans. Yes, the candidates have to be a minimum of 18 years of age, as of 1st July 2020.
