Admission Experience

Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Tanmay Sinha: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Tanmay Sinha: “After getting the call from NMIMS, the 2nd round was the WAT. The time limit was of 20 minutes and the word limit was 250 words. The topic was a very general topic where you had to give strong points on whichever side you stand. During those 20 minutes, I took 6-7 min to think all the points I could think of, and the remaining 10 min I took to formulate a paragraph and type.

Tip: Put more time to think on logical points than to just write senseless ones .”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Tanmay Sinha: "Airplane security is getting stricter, but gets discriminating towards people coming from certain regions. They further strip check and do other kinds of checking just for airplane security. Do you think it's justified? (from whatever I can recall)”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Tanmay Sinha: “I wrote against the motion (I can not recall)

I went anti-discrimination, but airplane security is Important where simple search can not put other passengers in danger. (Can’t recall further points)”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Tanmay Sinha: “Mode of the interview was online with 3 panelists on the other side. The interview was more of a conversation than a stress test. I was the last candidate for the interview that day and the first question they asked was 'How does it feel to be last ?' I answered, "Pretty good, I asked fellow people of the type of questions you are asking, and I guess I am ready with them ". They laughed and the interview drifted into a conversation from there . My interview went about 12-15 min

Pro tip: I had time to know the kind of panelists before the interview by asking around, so I molded my behavior accordingly .”

Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.

Tanmay Sinha: “They asked me questions based on my SOP. My internships, My academics, My hobbies. And then asked me about which field I would like to pursue, I mentioned Marketing. He asked me to sell NMIMS over IIM A. I sold him by giving the below points :

1. NM pedagogy, Corporate interventions, etc (basically all good things about NM)

2. Location advantage of NMIMS.

3. People come here on a Merit basis, unlike IIMs where reservation is in effect. (I am a salesman, Ill sell in whatever way possible :P)

They asked me philosophical ideas such as What makes one happy or what makes you happy .”

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted (OR if you did not join this college after converting it, mention 3 reasons for not joining it).

Tanmay Sinha: “I live in Mumbai, nothing better than NM

I only had NM call .”

What was the reason for you not converting to other colleges?

Tanmay Sinha: “I just gave NMAT and CAT . after these 2 exams, I secured a job in L&T in my final year, hence I decided ill take work ex and then go for MBA.

But I ended up getting a call from NMIMS, so I didn't miss the opportunity .”
