What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Making use of the opportunity for reinventing the role of an educator”

Education is a never-ending process. It does not stop after earning a degree or starting a career. Being an educator, I strongly believe in approaching strategies for professional development and the upliftment of the learners. The professional development nurtures the talent of the teachers who aspire to take educational leadership positions.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“An effective leader relies on his/her position for commitment”

A personal leadership philosophy refers to an individual’s beliefs, principles and sentiments that inspire him/her to lead the organization. It determines the character and belief of the person. I focus on the goals and the strategies adopted for their fulfilment. I fully rely on the values, dedication and sincere inputs for meeting the goal. The authority must keep a healthy

environment and unity among the staff.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your college?

“Being committed and focused on the educational needs of the students”

The publicity of the programmes is done through local newspapers, TV channels , college websites and handouts. Social media is used effectively for reaching unto the last. Face to face delivery of the message is preferred as per the need of the content. Delivering the promises made regarding the quality of education helps in mouth publicity.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?

“Maximum opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge with supervision”

The college gives various opportunities to students for face to face interactions with the industry. Therefore, the college organizes a summit of industry and academia. Industrial visits, hands-on training, workshops and interactions are organized frequently. The curriculum is enriched with field visits, projects and surveys related to the industry.

Any insights into how your college could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Making education accessible to each and every potential student”

The college believes in an inclusive environment in the classroom and on the campus for all irrespective of their caste, creed and diverse backgrounds. Every care has been taken to make the students comfortable on the campus.Reaching to the downtrodden for education is the guiding principle of our parent institute Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Reservation policies laid down by the Government of Maharashtra regarding admissions are strictly followed. Special efforts are taken to avail of various scholarships and freeships to the needy students.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“Providing equal opportunities for all”

The role of an educator is more important in sustaining the reputation of the institution. Fair, respectful and unbiased treatment irrespective of age, gender, and religion of stakeholders are some of the prime principles of any organization. Making students aware of the challenges and opportunities in the global world brings a sense of accountability among them.

What do you think should be the institutions’ top priority over the next 10 years?

“Keeping educational diversity and maintaining it throughout the lifetime”

Quality education is the investment and asset for the next generations. Therefore, I think inculcating the sense of belonging, reliability and commitment among our predecessors is a great task to be accomplished. Community engagement makes the institution popular. Being accountable for society and keeping a good pace with every stakeholder is the premier task. Making an institution a centre of facilitation is the prime responsibility of an educator.

When you first came to this college, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

“Set ourselves apart with the excellence we maintain”

I have envisioned to make this institution a top rank college in Shivaji University, Kolhapur. I tried to make this institution inclusive and presentable to attract the learners in case of quality education and physical set up. The supportive and helpful nature of the staff made a positive impact on the minds of the students.

Recently the college has started I.B.P.S. classes and police pre recruitment training and guidance centre. The college runs career-oriented courses in Spoken English and Logistic Management. Physical facilities such as Network Resource Centre, leisure place, common room, Rest Room for differently abled students, gymkhana, rainwater harvesting facility, Vermi Compost Unit are developed on the college campus.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for college specifically?

“Teaching the students the importance of two-way communication”

Bringing improvement in the communication skills among the students looks like the biggest challenge in my opinion. Providing 100% placement to students and creating awareness of self-employment among students also remains on the list.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Be an independent individual”

Students should improve skills like communication, teamwork, critical and creative thinking and flexibility. They must adopt a secular and democratic approach to make this nation powerful. Social commitment and exposure to extension activities will lead to the progress of the individuals. The dignity of the labour will make students composed of self- esteem.
