Prof. Dr. Vivek Khare is the Registrar at Jagran Lakecity University. He has vast experience of 27+ years in the field of education. He has been guiding the scholars for the Ph.D. program and been the coordinators of various projects. 

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Coming up with solutions and making the education sector better every day”

The most important factor in this profession is the updated knowledge and quality delivery of the same to the students. The other factor is respect, which as an educator, I got from society and a chance to guide students in their overall development. At the same time, this profession gives a chance to get connected with the young generation. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Leadership should be a dynamic, exciting, and inspiring experience”

Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new. Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to "win" as a team or an organization. Yet, while leaders set the direction, they must also use management skills to guide their people to the right destination, smoothly and efficiently. As a leader, I always believe in trusting the people and at the same time allow them to work with autonomy and responsibility.

In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here at your university?

“Being a home institution even in a distant land”

As our tagline, ‘Central India’s Global University’ goes, Jagran Lakecity University has since in its inception has focussed on providing world-class education by even bringing in the faculties from our partnered institutions abroad. We have nearly 27+ international partnerships and over 500+ lectures delivered so far by foreign faculties. Currently, JLU is running the JLU ‘International Igniting Mind Lecture’ series across various disciplines from the world over. At Jagran Lakecity University we offer a very diverse educational & learning experience, ranging from Asia & India centric contexts to its comparative integration with global insights. As a university, we have been able to provide our international students with much wider diverse applications and theoretical constructs than they would have got in their home institutions. How does the curriculum of Jagran Lakecity University ensure the best practice of industry?

“Keeping the students connected to the corporate world”

We have the Board of Studies for each course which has a mixed blend of people from academia and corporate. This helps us to draft the subject’s curriculum in a way that it shall make the student’s industry-ready. A compulsory and regular feature of the internship has made us bridge the gap between academia and corporate houses. 

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Have made sure that the economic background does not stand as a hindrance”

Adhering to the concept of Vasudev Kutumbakum, a university is surely a place where the students are welcome across all the strata of the society and are treated equally. We have a trend of getting foreign students since our first year and we have been providing a homely environment at our hostels and campus. Jagran Lakecity University believes that the best and brightest talent can realize their potential and come and study at our university, irrespective of the student’s financial circumstances. For this very purpose, the university has instituted Chancellor Freeships. Every year 10 such students are given these freeships. This is just an extension of 20+ years of the legacy established and followed by our parent body Jagran Social Welfare Society.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Getting the maximum number of students to pursue research”

The target that the university has set up for the next 10 years is to be in the top-ranking lists in terms of quality education and research-oriented university. We are committed to achieving it by imbibing it as a practice at our university. Innovative ideas are promoted and so is the research culture with all due rewards for it.

What do you see as Jagran Lakecity University’s greatest strengths?

“The holistic approach towards the student’s and university’s well-being”

The key strength of Jagran Lakecity University is the practice-based pedagogy at its core. JLU believes in the all-round development of its students and hence offers different sports and recreational facilities on campus along with the core subject knowledge. The faculty members are also the key strengths across various disciplines that Jagran Lakecity University possesses. The minimum requirements as proposed by UGC and other monitoring agencies strictly adhere to. The environment-friendly campus its facilities add to our strength which surely would add to the student’s likings.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“There is no alternative to hard work”

My suggestion to the aspiring students shall be that there is no shortcut to success, therefore follow the right path and with your hard work and dedication. You can achieve what you desire. The sky is the limit for those who adhere to the commandments of success.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment at your university?

“To take the student’s potential beyond the classroom”

The environment at Jagran Lakecity University has been quite a student-centric one. An overall networking and some fantastic events organized by the student services cell for the students is surely our commitment to the parents and their wards. The classes are equally matched by the co-curricular activities depending upon the student’s interest is one step to achieve this healthy environment.
