What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“My love for teaching, and research has always enabled me to hold my ground in this sector”

I have been an educationist for about 20 years, and I have had many life-altering experiences. I have always learnt from those experiences and tried to implement my lessons while discharging my professional duties. To flourish in academics and to make your institution grow with you is not an isolated job. It requires utmost dedication, will, and courage. I have always admired my students who have exhibited remarkable grit and determination to reach their dream positions. As a teacher, witnessing the gradual progress and success of your students is the ultimate reward. I would also give due credit to my superiors and Gurus, who have guided my path and motivated me to improve myself. It is a noble field, and I have discovered that it gives a sense of purity and accomplishment every day. Getting an opportunity to shape the country's future and nurture the youth of the nation is the grandest reward this sector bestows upon you.

We already have many international students pursuing various courses. We plan to motivate our international students to excel in all domains both in India and abroad.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

“It is my primary role to provide a healthy and supportive academic environment”

It is my job to make sure that students reap maximum benefits from their University life. My responsibilities include upholding the highest campus discipline standards, streamlining resources, and ensuring their timely availability to the students. Also, a part goes in neutralizing issues relating to students and their welfare, providing the students and their parents’ satisfaction, control and eradicates incidents of indiscipline such as ragging, bullying, use of unfair means, etc. I have personally undertaken to uphold the university's vision and mission by giving my best efforts to the best of my knowledge and experience.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“The internationalization of education is the way of the future”

I believe that the path on which the University has embarked has paved the pathway for the next ten years. JLU Management is determined to make JLU’s presence felt on the world map. We have started spreading our wings and flying in that very direction. Hosting international speakers, professionals, experts, and luminaries have always provided us an edge over the others. In the next decade, we plan to diffuse our students into the global professional fabric. They are our brand ambassadors and torch-bearers of the future, and we are taking many steps to provide them an opportunity to rise and shine.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

“Our mark of excellence is because of sheer dedication and persistent efforts of our team”

We have made our mark in a brief period. It has been made possible only due to the entire JLU team’s persistent efforts with the university management's remarkable guidance and support. We believe ourselves to be professionally and academically responsible to our students as well as their parents. We provide scholarships to deserving students. What activities do you undertake/ organize for students to make their ideology align to the law fraternity? (It can include MOOT courts, case studies, bail sessions, court visits etc.)

“Legal education and the law profession have undergone a sea change in the past couple of decades”

With the advent of National Law Universities and premium private universities, legal education has enhanced drastically. The sector has become competitive and exciting, making a larger room for innovation and initiative. At JLU School of Law, innovation and creativity are given extreme importance. We have a highly functional Moot Court and Legal Aid Clinic through which our students explore and enhance their legal understanding, research skills, communication skills, teamwork instinct, etc. We have established eleven Centres for fostering quality research and development in various booming sectors of law. It allows the students to expose themselves to the recent trends in the law field. One of the flourishing domains in direction today is alternative dispute resolution, primarily arbitration, and mediation. We have constituted an ADR Cell under which various activities such as Mediation sessions, arbitration competitions; arbitral award-writing, etc. are conducted. We also train our students in negotiation, client counseling and consultation, debates, and legislative drafting. It is essential to keep the students updated with skills that are in demand in the legal fraternity. We tune our curriculum regularly to meet those demands.

What are the latest trends in the field of law that you are following or you want to introduce in your curriculum which will help to enhance the teaching learning process?

“There is a huge demand of law professionals globally”

I have observed that the law has essentially become global. With the expansion of trade, diplomatic relations, international education, medicine, etc., law professionals’ importance and demand with a worldwide mindset have increased exponentially. Therefore, a law institute needs to prepare its students for these modern global challenges. The traditional way of teaching and learning will not work in today’s scenario. We are a member of the Erasmus+ Tuning India Project, whose aim is to build fundamental and advanced law students' competencies through a comprehensive and cutting-edge curriculum. We have embraced the modern tools and techniques of legal education and are strictly adhering to international standards. It is not enough for the law students to be limited to municipal laws and national trends. It is equally vital for them to be exposed to international trends and paradigm shifts. With this aim, we have collaborated with various foreign universities to foster globalized legal education. We have continuously been organizing special lectures and teaching weeks on different domains by renowned international legal luminaries from prestigious Universities of the world. Our objective is to produce a determined professional with a profile that suits both national and international demands.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“The truth is that the professional arena has become more competitive than ever”

It is imperative to possess skills that make you presentable, desirable, and employable. The world is teeming with hard-workers. Do not hesitate to explore new dimensions and grab new opportunities. Do not be afraid to fail. Be open to each learning experience. Make sure you encash all the possibilities and benefits your institute offers from time to time. Never ignore your family, friends, and your health and always make time for them. Develop a strong and emotionally stable character and always be ready to work as a team as it has always been a question of collective growth. Be an asset and not a liability to the community and the nation. Own your responsibilities and discharge them to the best of your abilities.
