And he has total work experience of 7 years in the education sector. He has done B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University as part of his academics.

Being the Head of Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

"Monitoring college activities, ensuring students participation in these activities and events and motivating them is my responsibility"

As a Head of the Department, my prime responsibility is to appropriately plan and prepare the lectures and courses curriculum, to provide a meaningful and progressively challenging learning experiences to students which include but are not limited to self-exploration, questioning, making choices, setting goals, planning and organizing, implementing, self-evaluating and demonstrating initiative in tasks and projects. Along with this, engaging students in training programs and activities organized by college, ensuring a creative learning environment for them, providing such opportunities through which they can access latest technologies and use the information to solve real world issues also comes under my scope of responsibilities. Lastly, assigning assignments and homework to students as per university rules, evaluating their performance in a fair and timely manner, recording the academic results of students and managing a disciplined environment in college is my accountability. 

How does your department enhance the faculty skills and prepare them as per industry standards?

"They are upskilled through customized training programs"

Our Department focuses on complete development and growth of its faculty members and we also encourage them to conduct more research and all kinds of support is provided by us. Hence, we provide them required training programs and skill enhancement sessions to help them upgrade themselves.

When you joined the Ramgarh Engineering College, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"My goal was to bring best business value for college and make it one of the best Institution of our country"

My vision when I joined this institute as a faculty was to enhance the reputation of our college and make it a world-class teaching and research institution which is recognized for its innovation, excellence and students. And to implement my aim, along with support of my amazing team, we all are working on challenges which are present in vocational education and also For the accomplishment of the vision, we as a team are working with the challenges in vocational education and providing a platform to our students for standard placements opportunities at graduate and postgraduate levels.

Which extracurricular activities are organized in your college to enhance the skills of students?

"Quizzes, GD and extempore like activities are organized by us regularly"

Our college understands the fact that co-curricular activities are very important for students' personal and professional growth. Hence we conduct quizzes, group discussions and extempore to improve the overall personality of students. Along with this, we also offer them different kinds of value added courses as per real world requirements and make them ready for the competitive world.

How do you prepare your students to deal with the outside competitive world?

"By guiding and mentoring them from time to time and on an individual basis"

We conduct one to one interaction sessions for students to address their academic and non-academic issues and queries and also to figure out their strengths, weaknesses, as this approach helps us to fix their issues at the earliest and we keep motivating them to do their best. Along with this, we organize activities to ensure their participation both at individual and team level. Overall, we keep the learning environment as light as possible so that they don't feel unnecessary pressure and become the best version of themselves. 

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"By doing rigourous research and analysis before defining the curriculum"

While drafting and renewing the curriculum of our college, we thoroughly analyze the industrial world developments and requirements and accordingly make necessary changes in it. And I feel proud to say that our curriculum is a perfect blend of best academic standards and teaching-learning practices like assigning text questions to students and assessing their academic progress through the same. We have also established a feedback mechanism system through which we regularly update our students in which areas or topics they need more improvement. Along with this, we have collaborative projects for students and we use digital technologies in the best possible way to deliver our lectures.

Which best practices are offered by your department to students to help them gain necessary skills?

Our college firmly believes that industrial exposure is very important and an essential factor to help students enhance their skills and practical knowledge. Therefore, different kinds of events like webinars, expert talk series and industrial visits are organized by us. In addition to this, we keep assigning short term live projects to students so that they can implement their classroom learning to resolve real time issues and learn new skills simultaneously.
