Which is better NIT Jalandhar or Manipal University Jaipur?

- Undergraduate students are required to have 50% marks in 10+2 and 50%-55% for postgraduate programs.

Infrastructure Facilities
- NIT Jalandhar has the following central facilities- Training and Placement Centre; Central Library; Central Workshop; Computer Centre; CCE and IIC.
- Apart from these, there's a seminar hall, transportation facility, State Bank and Canara Bank ATMs, Open Air Theatre, and 13 hostels.
- Manipal University Jaipur has a fully WiFi campus with 120 computers; a library; sports facilities for carrom, football, tennis, etc; canteen; amphitheater; hostels, and auditoriums.

Manipal University Jaipur:
- It boasts of a 75% placement record for Engineering students and a 95% placement record for Non-Engineering students.

- Last year, the highest package offered was INR 39.02 LPA by Adobe and Microsoft and the average package was INR 11.63 LPA.
- Placement percentages for ECE and CSE was the highest with 94.87% and 94.05 % respectively.
Both are Tier-3 colleges and students may choose based on the placement and professional prospects of the program chosen.
Should I take production engineering at MNNIT Allahabad or mechanical engineering at NIT Jalandhar?
Mechanical is an option at NIT Jalandhar.
Although MNNIT Allahabad has a better brand name than NIT Jalandhar, the production branch has many disadvantages when compared to the mechanical branch.
Unless someone specifically mentions Production Engineering, you will have to compete with mechanical students at NIT Allahabad during placements and off-campus interviews. When compared to Mechanical, there are fewer job opportunities.
There may now be one or two PSUs with separate vacancies for Production students. Mechanical paper is required in order to obtain PSUs, which are extremely difficult to crack. GATE is very important for core branches, and Mechanical has a high level of competition compared to other branches. Only if you intend to change your branch after one year should you enroll in NIT Allahabad; otherwise, do not.
Can I get a CSE at NIT Jalandhar with a JEE Mains rank of 11k?
Yes, you will get CSE at NIT Jalandhar if you fulfill the Home State quota. But your chances of getting CSE reduce to almost 70% if you are expecting a seat from the Other State quota.

Should I take partial drop (NIT + coaching) for the next year JEE by taking textile or metallurgy department in NIT Jalandhar? Or should I join Thapar Electronics?
I don't think any of the options stated above are worth it. They will consume more time, and cost you a lot of money and effort. So rather than partial drop, I recommend you only drop the year and fully concentrate on the JEE syllabus. Now you have JEE exams and NEET twice a year which gives you more chances of cracking it. I have listed 4 probabilities and their possible consequences:

Studying in an NIT and preparing for JEE along and cracking it: Only a waste of money

Fully dropping a year and concentrating entirely only on JEE and not being able to crack it is Waste of time but you are lucky enough to give a second shot the same year.

Dropping a year, fully concentrating on cracking the JEE exams, and cracking it: Your time and efforts are well invested.
The ultimate choice is yours. But dropping a year is better than a partial drop I guess.
