What is the scope of management consulting at B Schools like NMIMS, SIBM, SCMHRD and XIMB? Do non-engineers, freshers get such roles?
This would certainly not be easy for a non-engineer fresher to get management consulting roles in firms such as Accenture, McKinsey, Deloitte, EY, Capgemini etc.
- Most of the above companies provide IT consulting, operations consulting, risk consulting, etc. at these institutes. You may expect these profiles.
- However, if you are looking for strategic consulting, then these roles are offered at only top B-schools such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, XLRI, FMS, SPJIMR Mumbai, etc. Do not expect them to be offered at the listed institutes here.
Even if some companies do offer such roles, they care about your academics in your MBA, your work experience, your personality, and your background. My cousin is an alumnus of Symbiosis Centre of Management Studies (SCMS) Pune and her experience there was good. If you want to do an MBA and not want to get into giving entrances again, then go for Nirma, it is a decent pick. If you feel you can study in the 2nd and 3rd year of your graduation for MBA entrance exams. Then go for BBA from NMIMS or Symbiosis.
