Will I regret joining IIT Roorkee for MBA leaving IMT, IMI, TAPMI?

BS
Bhoomika Sinha Posted On : August 1st, 2022
B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal

IIT Roorkee is essentially a technical school. Core B-Schools such as IMT, IMI, and TAPMI will certainly offer better exposure and placement opportunities in the management domain. These B-Schools have a proven track record of producing skilled managers. As a student of the institute, you will get better exposure and development opportunities.

In terms of ROI, IIT Roorkee placements are good for MBA. The total fees for the course are around INR 8.26 Lakhs, while the average CTC offered is around INR 10.98 LPA. If you want to learn the ropes of management in a typical b-school environment then choosing IMT, IMI or TAPMI will be better.

MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (2016)

It is a close call between SPJIMR and JBIMS. NMIMS is not in the same league as these but it is a decent B-School and ranked among the top 30 in India. JBIMS has the highest rank. Indiatoday 2021 ranked the institute 12 for MBA.

JBIMS offers better ROI. Course fees for the institute are INR 6.05 Lakhs. While the average CTC for the institute is INR 27 LPA, according to JBIMS placements highlights of 2022. If you are interested in Finance, you should choose JBIMS.

How good is IIM Udaipur's DEM (Digital Enterprise Management) program and what is the average placement for the one year DEM program?

AM
Anubha Maity Posted On : July 31st, 2021
MBA from IIM Bangalore (2018)

Well, my brother is currently enrolled in the DEM program. So, I can tell you about what he has learned so far and what was his experience as he’s still in the first term of the course.

About the course:

  • The course format is a whip-up of courses that will help you comprehend the commercial implications of modern digital technologies.
  • A full semester is devoted to live business simulation projects. The first term focuses on business topics that include operations, economics, and accounting.
  • In addition, subjects like Statistics and Advanced Analytics are offered in the first term, laying the framework for future terms in which the emphasis would be entirely on digital technology.
  • This is the first program in India where Design Thinking is taught as a full-fledged course over two terms by two industry stalwarts and academics who have previously taught at IIM-A, B, and K.

Faculty:

  • Now getting down to the Faculty, they have been excellent so far, and there’s no reason to believe that this will not continue in the coming two terms.
  • Members of the advisory board for this new course include representatives from Flipkart, IBM, and Deloitte, to mention a few. As a result, this was created in partnership with industry leaders.

To summarise, my brother’s experience there has been excellent so far, and like every other student he too enrolled in this course, he has high expectations for the following semesters.

As of now, only the first batch has had placements. According to the placement highlights, around 93% of the batch got job offers. Some of the major recruiters were Deloitte, CGI, Accenture, etc.

Which is best for an MBA, IIT Madras or LIBA?

RK
Roshni Karnam Posted On : April 11th, 2022
BTech and MTech Engineering Design & Automotive Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (2017)

DoMS IIT Madras is the best option for MBA. The management faculty of the institute are highly experienced. Faculty-student ratio is 1:7. Other than faculties there are also TAs to help you with any problems. Due to the small batch size, every student gets the required attention from faculties.

IIT Madras MBA placements have been pretty good over the years. During the 2022 placement drive, a total of 61 students received placement offers. The average CTC was INR 16.66 LPA. For the top 10% of students, the average CTC was INR 21.62 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 25.30 LPA. IBM, Zycus, Amazon, etc. were the major recruiters that visited the placement drive.

Is Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida worth while for pursuing MBA?

KP
Komal Pathak Posted On : March 16th, 2023
Studied Post Graduate Diploma in Management at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida (Graduated 2016)

Whether pursuing MBA from Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida is worthwhile or not depends entirely on your individual circumstances and goals.

If you have scored well in any of the MBA entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, or XAT, you may consider exploring other top colleges that may offer better ROI. However, if your scores are average or below average, you may consider pursuing MBA from low budget college preferably from UP, where the fee structure is much lower than that of Jaipuria.

While Jaipuria offers good academics and placement records, getting placed in a good company can be challenging. It is advisable to contact a few seniors who are working or have worked in the same company before applying for the job.

In conclusion, if you are investing your money in your dream, you obviously want a return on investment. While Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida can help you build confidence, improve your public speaking skills, and meet intelligent people during guest talks, you may not get the return on investment you desire.

I completed my BBA two years back and now I have 2 years of work experience. I did a distant PGDM from NMIMS. If I clear the CAT this year, should I go for a regular MBA?

VR
Varsha Roy Posted On : June 27th, 2021
Studied at IIM A (2018)

Since you already have a work experience of 2 years you should go for an executive program from a reputed institute rather than doing any regular program.

  • You should never hold your career because of continuing with a regular MBA program rather than you should choose an executive program.
  • For the executive program, you can choose a 1-year global MBA degree in collaboration with 3 B schools.
  • They are Cardiff School of Management, UK, IIM-Indore, and Universal Business School, Mumbai.
  • In this program, you will be able to learn from these big institutions, especially IIM’s.
  • You will also be getting good global exposure.
  • The curriculum of the college will be the British curriculum and all these programs will develop your skills and will help you in your career development.

The executive program of IBS Hyderabad is also very good. There are several other institutes offering executive MBA programs where you can research and choose the best option.

Should I go to doon business school Dehradun from MBA?

BG
Britiyananda Ghosh Posted On : April 15th, 2021
Doon Business School

One of my friends is doing her MBA from Doon Business School. So I know a few things about the course.

From what I heard about the institute from her, Doon Business School does not offer decent placement to its students. Consider joining the college only if you have confidence that you can get a good placement offer on your own. Don’t be dependent on the college for placements.

The college will give you opportunities to learn, overcome your shortcomings. It will also offer you a platform to secure better opportunities.

So, if you are confident that you can make the best of the limited opportunities offered at the institute then only choose to go for Doon Business School.

NMIMS Global MBA program is better than other distance MBA programs available. The course is designed as per the requirements of working professionals. Students get the required support from the university and the centers.

They have student portals and Whatsapp groups to keep students updated regarding course-related information. The year-wise examination is taken in an online mode at students’ convenience.
