B.Tech Engineering & Civil Engineering, Manipal Institute Of Technology (2020)

If the student is receiving the same branch in both of these colleges, then one should choose BIT Mesra over MIT Manipal. But if the student is receiving anything other than CSE in MIT Manipal then better go for BIT Mesra.

The table shows a brief overview of the institutions:

Particulars

BIT Mesra

MIT Manipal

Median Salary

Rs. 11.76 Lakh

Rs.7.50 Lakh

Entrance Criteria

JEE Main

MET / JEE Main

Fees

Rs. 13.15 Lakh

Rs. 17.06 Lakh

Overview:

  • Academics, Placements, Faculty, Internships are better in BIT Mesra if compared to MIT Manipal as it has comparatively low fees than MIT and provides better placements offers.
  • Infrastructure, Hostel and Overall personality development are better at MIT Manipal and these varieties are really immense.
  • MIT Manipal does not provide international placements and if the student is applying for masters then MIT's brand name is not that noticeable.
  • BIT Mesra does offer international placements and has a better brand name outside for masters if compared to MIT Manipal.
  • If the student does a slight hard work and keeps up the grades in MIT Manipal during their first year then the student can easily get upgraded to the CSE branch.
  • Upgradation of the branch in BIT Mesra is remarkably tough. If the student gets any branch below the Civil in BIT Mesra then better favour to go for the MIT Manipal.

If the student is receiving anything similar to CS like IT in BIT Mesra then go for it. If the student is passionate about the branch they take, then they will do great wherever they go.
