B.E Mechanical Engineering, HKBK College of Engineering, Bangalore (2016)

When talking about the academic criteria about HKBK, it stands to be an average choice among many others. Besides, a student might find it difficult to get the required placement, unless of course the student is from the CS or IS branch.

I know some students from the institute and have not received good reviews about the same.

  • There are students who informed that at the moment of admission, the faculty will state that they have 3 specializations, but when promoted in the 3rd semester, the same faculty will somehow instruct you to comply with one.
  • Other than that, the eventual downside of the institution, as also mentioned by students, is that the labs of it are not very well maintained and are rather below average.

A brief overview of the college is given below for your reference.

Which college is better, HKBK or Reva University?

B.E. Information Science, HKBK College of Engineering, Bangalore (2019)

If there is one word to be spared, then it is above average. I know a few people from the institute and have received a mixed opinion from them. The pros and cons of the institute are as discussed below.

Pros:

  • The campus is amazing.
  • The senior faculty is renowned among students.
  • You can rather get somewhat good laboratories as well which are maintained in pristine condition.
  • At the most, there are different events going on throughout the year.

Cons:

  • The institution is quite a bit overcrowded.
  • The hostel services are deemed to be bad and pretty much expensive as well.
  • When paying the fees, it becomes troublesome.
  • The campus is located at a very remote location which makes it difficult for students to finally reach there.

Alongside all of that, if you study well, you will get good placements. Hope this helps.

Which college is better, HKBK or Reva University?

AS

studied at Visvesvaraya Technological University (2019)

As one of my friends is a student of REVA University, I might be able to provide some information about it.

  • The faculty members of REVA University are extremely helpful and highly experienced in their particular field.
  • The environment here is very disciplined and has an excellent learning atmosphere.
  • The CS department organizes workshops for better learning.
  • The placement here is not the best but is improving very well. If proper education is provided the students will be able to secure a good job offer even in off-campus placements.
  • Considering hostels, REVA University has one of the well-maintained hostels in the country.
  • The food provided is good, healthy, and affordable.
  • Other facilities like a laundry facility are available at INR 100 per year.

But like everything else it has its flaws which bother the students. This includes the wifi facilities which are not great as in the hostels most of the times the connection is interrupted.

Even though EC is one of the most sought-after courses at HKBK college, there isn't a 100% placement record in any engineering branches of HKBK yet. If you want to get placed with a good package, you must have a good academic score, technical knowledge, a strong resume, and the skill sets to crack the interview.

Getting placed at a good company also depends on your project or internship history. So working on your skills is the key. Also, try to apply individually to your dream company instead of hoping for college to have your back always. Your connection and alumni network will definitely play a pivotal role here.

Now, let us briefly look into the placement stats of HKBK college 2020:
