Questions Asked On NIET, Greater Noida

Is NIET, Greater Noida a good college?

TG

B.Tech Information Technology, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (2018)

One of my close friends attended NIET and here is his take on the institute.

  • The main recruiter on campus is TCS. You will be able to apply for the company no matter which branch you belong to. Apart from TCS, MNCs that visit the campus are UHG, Capgemini, etc. for CS/IT students. There will also be a few other companies based on your branch.
  • Maximum recruiting companies hire students in sales, marketing, business analyst job roles.
  • There are no placements for the Civil branch. The faculties are not that experienced either.
  • NIET advertises about their good placement records, but if you go through the placement list you will find that most of the placements at the institute are in sales profile.
  • The institute claims that the Indian Army and Indian Navy visit the placement drive every year. But in his 4-year duration of the course, my friend didn’t witness anyone getting recruited by them.
  • The infrastructure of the college is also not that good. WiFi is not that useful, you have to use VPN to open common sites like youtube.
  • There is no fest, and little to no exposure.

According to my friends, it will be better if you don’t consider NIET as an option, rather go for other alternatives if you have them.

GL Bajaj will be a better option. It offers better placements. GL Bajaj placements have been pretty good over the last few years. During the 2021 placement drive, students received the highest CTC of 31.6 LPA. Around 372 companies took part in the campus drive. The institute conducts soft skill training, and various workshops to prepare students for the placement drive.

How can I join NIET Noida for CSE?

NJ
Nikita Jain Posted On : May 17th, 2021
B.Tech from NIET Noida

For NIET there are a total of 2 admission procedures which are as follows.

On-campus:

Visit the campus with your academic transcripts, i.e mark sheets of 1oth, 12th, etc. Let the officials know that you are interested in taking admission for CSE. You may have to take a test to do so. These tests are usually quite easy. Also, just a tip I got from my friends at the institute that good communication skills in English go a long way there.

College Counseling:

Clear a competitive examination, like AIEEE, UPTU with good rank and choose the institute for counseling. You can also select the college based on your Mains score.

Here is the required UPSEE cutoff for CSE in recent years.

How is the life at NIET?

AM
Ayush Mehta Posted On : June 18th, 2021
Studied B.Tech in Computer Science at NIET (2020)

My friend from school used to be a student of NIET and he has said there are two cases of life in NIET: the hostler and day scholars.

  • For the hostelers, before starting life at NIET, it should be known that there are two campuses, the main campus which is for the second, third, and fourth-year students, and the campus for the students of the first year.
  • If you are a hosteler, then life as a student will be nothing short of a mess. There are two hostels: the flat hostel which accommodates 1-2 students and the Om Hostel which has accommodation for 3-4 students.
  • The mess in the hostel gives food which leaves a lot to be desired. Initially, the food provided is good but as time goes, the quality of the food deteriorates. And the quality does not improve, unfortunately.
  • Day scholars have it easy in the institute but if the students live far off then the to and fro journey can get burdensome.

However, looking on the bright side, the faculty is supportive provided you are willing to put in the effort. The institute has a good library and despite the fact that the classes not having ACs, the labs do.

How good is hostel life at NIET?

AS
Anubha Sharma Posted On : June 1st, 2021
BA Computer Programming & Movies, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (2019)

Here are some of the information from an ex-student of NIET and a good friend of mine about the girl’s hostel.

  • The wifi facility is available, however, most of the sites are blocked and students use VPN to use them.
  • The food served initially is good but over time, the quality degrades. The mess committee guarantees quality and change of menus in starting year but you won’t get to see any change.
  • Lift is also available but it never works. It is always under maintenance. The student of the first year gets 4th floor and they have to struggle a lot due to this.
  • The security management of the hostel is quite good.
  • The rooms in the girls’ hostel are of two types- three and four-seater. The first-year students are placed on the 4th floor in four-seater rooms and rest in 1st. 2nd, and 3rd in three-seater.
  • There is no Gym facility for girls in the hostel. There is one on the second campus, you will have to go by NIET Bus.
  • You are not allowed to be in your room during college hours. As there won’t be any electricity.
  • The students are allowed to stay out till 7 pm. And for a night out, you will have to take permission from the chief warden who will first ask from parents and then allow.

Overall the hostel experience will be average. You can opt for the college hostel in first year to make some friends, and move out later in 2nd year.

M.Tech Process Control & National Institute of Technology, Warangal (2020)

Both Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) and Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology (RKGIT) are private engineering colleges located in the Delhi NCR region. I have a few friends at both the institutes and based on the conversation, I had with them, I will say NIET will be better.

The faculty and campus placements at RKGIT are not that great. Compared to RKGIT, NIET has better a better faculty base and placement record.

Here are the recent placement highlights for the two institutes.

Institute NIET RKGIT
Average CTC 3.8 LPA 5 LPA
Highest CTC 11 LPA 12.20 LPA
Top recruiters HCL, Capgemini, Wipro Jaro Education, TCS

Visit the college or talk to the alumni to know more about the institutes.

Is it true that NIET placements are really best?

Subhas Sengupta Posted On : June 8th, 2021
Studied at Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (2017)

I have some friends who went to NIET. And based on the conversion I had with them, I will say placement at the institute is quite good.

Numerous companies visit and recruit at NIET. If you're talented, you can get a good placement. NIET provides opportunities for its students to interact with companies and learn about job openings.

Here are the highlights of placement for 2020.

Average CTC 11 LPA
Highest CTC 3.8 LPA
Total no of students placed 1,772

There are placement preparation classes held on campus. These classes are also quite affordable. Overall, you will have enough good placement opportunities at the institute.

I am studying for a B.Tech in CSE at NIET Greater Noida. Will I be able to work in big IT companies in the future?

PR
Prateek Rajan Posted On : November 4th, 2022
Lives in Greater Noida

You will choose your own path, and how much you are willing to learn is entirely up to you. It is up to you to improve your skills.

NIET is the only college in the Delhi NCR that has the following characteristics:

  • Recognized by three government bodies: NAAC Grade 'A,' NBA, and NIRF Ranking.

  • Best faculty members, infrastructure, lab facilities, and round-the-clock placement activities.

  • Furthermore, the NIET administration is most concerned with placing each student. For student placement, NIET was the first institute in NCR to have a Microsoft Innovation Centre (to provide students with industry-specific training), Prometric Lab, Mock Preparation, TCS Accreditation, and many other facilities.

  • Thousands of NIET students are working in various MNCs such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Cisco, Google, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and others, as well as various government organizations in India.

Although you want to work for a large IT firm, if you do not get a job with a large IT firm, do not lose faith in yourself. If you get a job in a small IT company, it's not a bad option for freshers because you'll learn a lot and have more responsibilities.
