Remarks :
I took an entrance exam called GAT (Gitam admission test) which was held 5 times this year phase 1 phase 2 and phase 3 to phase 5. I got a rank of around 300 but I couldn't get a scholarship because the scholarships here are based on a first come first serve basis, so I didn't write the exam soon enough o get a scholarship. the admission process was pretty smooth but scholarships should be given to those candidates who are eligible and who are worth it rather than give it to those who just write their exam in the first phase.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I always had an immense interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning not to forget coding was my favourite thing to learn and implement. After I knew that gitam Banglore has a course named computer science specialisation in artificial intelligence and machine learning, I knew that this was the course for me. the faculty to student ratio is about 40:3 and most of the faculties here are PhD candidates except for a few who are just graduates. the teaching methods differ from teacher to teacher but everything is done as a favour to the student and they make sure the student understands it perfectly. the term exams are perfectly timed, a strict schedule is given which is followed each and every time, and the difficulty is pretty medium, if u have enough knowledge about the topic it is pretty easy to pass.
Placement Experience :
I did not get any placement as I am still studying in college but according to my seniors the placements are pretty good and there is a 90% chance u get a place in a good company. from 3rd year the students are eligible to appear for placements and there are a lot of companies visiting gitam Banglore like amazon, TCS, etc., almost 40 to 50 companies visit every year. the highest on-campus package is around 16lpa and the average is 8lpa. my plans after getting the degree are to get an MBA degree from an IIM by writing a cat exam and cracking it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
the fee structure although is a bit expensive as compared to the other colleges I still think it's worth it. but there is a very bad scholarship offer to students which is a first come first get basis which is entirely wrong in my opinion. students should be awarded scholarships based on their merit and marks but not how soon they fill out their admission form. the placements here look quite nice for me, as a first-year student this is what I can tell, but most o my seniors here are trying for off-campus jobs and the college supports it pretty well.
Campus Life :
life at the campus is the best. we have dj nights vajrotsavas and a lot of different things of entertainment in the campus.the annual fest did not actually take place this year but we had a tech fest name EPOCH which happened in november of this month and which was quite fun. there are a lot of books and journals in the library and we have 8 to 9 timing for them on weekdays and 8 to 5 on weekends. amenities in the classroom are pretty good with a smart board, smart clock, AC, cc camera, monitor, projector, and wifi. a lot of sports events are conducted on campus like cricket volleyball kabaddi and badminton. clubs like GUSAC and BOOK club gitam is run by students and are pretty fun.
Hostel Facilities :
hostel facility is average, the facilities are quite nice but the room size is small. we have hot water, and wifi 24hrs a day. the meals and tiffins are very nice compared to other colleges. we even have special dinners on festival days. the hostels are a bit expensive but i would say they are worth it.
