Manipal college review

Remarks :

The admission process was as generic as it gets, Students showing interest must start with the entrance exam aka MET( Manipal entrance test), and after the results a counseling portal is opened where students fill in their choice of course and await the allotment based on their respective ranks. there are 7 counseling rounds and each round may prove to be better for the students as the course eligibility rank drops. Once a student is satisfied with his course allotment he then proceeds to pay the first installment for admission, afterwards a prompt from the college is sent mentioning the next steps for admission. Eg:- hostel, sem fees and mess fees, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very enriched and nuanced as compared to other colleges, the cresit system followed at this college is really strict and there is no leniency or partiality towards any students when it comes to attendance or performance. 75% attendance is compulsory with exceptions for medical leaves to partake in the end-semester examinations. 1st year of the college is similar for all branches with a division among sections for physics and chem cycles in the alternate semesters. the actual focus on the chosen branch is given during the second sem which focuses solely on the subject one opts for.

Internships Opportunities :

Students become eligible for internships during the 2nd year of BTech, I'm still in 1st year so I'm yet to receive an offer but after hearing and discussing with the seniors, usually most of them are offered internships in software startups, and companies with projects focusing on their degree, based in AI and machine learning or cybersecurity and IT. They usually last for 2 months and require rigorous work to acquire the completion certificates, most of them get paid too with a decent enough stipend.

Placement Experience :

Students can apply for their placements during the 5th semester and mostly get placed before the completion of the 3rd year of college, a wide variety of companies ranging from software to finance diaspora can be expected every year like Microsoft, bajaj finserv, etc which offer placements every year. almost 80% of students get placed every year and many don't choose to sit in placements for higher studies. the placement cell is very cooperative according to popular reviews and helps students to choose the right path cent percent times. I probably will start preparing myself for higher studies abroad, not interested in immediate job prospects as I wish to improve my skill much specifically toward my degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

the Fee structure at this college is relatively higher than any other tier 2 university but at the same time vis-a-vis, academics at this uni are much better than any other tier 2 university. one won't feel the pinch while paying the exorbitant fees because of all the facilities that are provided to students to make use of. Right from the hostels to classrooms, everything seems top-notch and of high quality. Maintenance is given high regard and student discipline too. Coming to scholarships there are very fewer chances for the majority of students to avail of them, it's limited to the cream of the college or the upper few who have been consistently proving themselves in academics or sports.

Campus Life :

the tech fest conducted at this college goes by the name of revels and is conducted during Feb or march of every year, it's a huge fest with participation from a lot of universities and other branches of Manipal also. Singers from different parts of India, Dancers, Actors, Ted talks, etc are the main attractions. The library holds a vast collection of books from all over India, almost every academic publishing can be accessed here, there's even an online portal for the library to check a book's availability or to issue it. classrooms are equipped with high-quality benches, ergonomically designed chairs, good ventilation, and great projectors and cameras. For sports one gets to access a lot of fields and courts, right from squash to swimming to football everything is provided, there are sports fests also which help students showcase their talents and even exhibition matches are also held regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I had an interest in technology and computers in my childhood and in today's generation AI and computers are on a great rise so I had chosen this course. Everyone teacher is allocated to a class of 60 students in theory lectures and everyone teacher is located to a batch of 30 students in practical sessions. The faculties are from top institutes like IIT and nits The final term exam takes place after the completion of the semester of the teaching of 4 months and also internal exam takes place in the middle of the semester

Placement Experience:

MIT Manipal is known for its placements. In CS and related branches, placement will be 100 % according to our statistics. Also, the students in 3rd year will get summer internship opportunities in reputed companies, which will be directly converted into jobs upon their performance. Final year placement will start in August and students will get Internships, placements, and Internship+Placement offers. Most of the fortune 500 companies will visit campus and grab students with good offers. The companies will hire for a good standard profile like R&D, SDE etc. The average annual package in CS and related branches will be around 8 to 10LPA according to my knowledge. And if one is very well in studies, skills he can get much more. Also, the college supports Higher studies, Research abroad, semester abroad programs, and B.Tech. honours and minor specializations. This year's placement session was really amazing.

Generally, Students are eligible from the 7th sem for placements. Many Companies visit the campus and provide placements to the students. As per my knowledge, the minimum salary per annum is 3 lakhs and the max is 25 lakhs. Even college will guide future studies also by inviting higher officials for the talk.
